    Anyone compiled a list of collectibles? Post anything you find here so we can use

    I have found a few posts here and there on reddit about gathering.

    It seems all the BTN/MIN are locked behind 1hr unspoilt node spawns.
    Some good rotations are appearing too

    I caught a few whilholm catfish at smouldeirng earlier than other posts say at 5PM eorzea time, but weather also fog so not sure if that counts

    All unspoiled nodes appear in both am and pm times. They also stay for only 55 Eorzean minutes.

    I've noticed there's hardly any information about the timed nodes at all. I presume it's so people can control the market on them, but eh. Spent a lot of time in Sea of Clouds yesterday waiting for Heavens Lemon but didn't see the node at all (yes, I'm the requisite level etc). Did have to leave for a few hours so that's probably when it appears, go figure.

    I must admit to being confused by (I believe it's called) Mechanical Appraisal as the tool tip states it increases collectability by 1x Perception. Well, my perception is 457 yet the increase is 115. What am I missing?

    I think its basically a poor choice of words.

    Consider crafting. Your Progress and Quality moves are based on an Efficiency. Basic Touch is 70% chance of success, 100% Efficiency. Careful Synthesis is 90% Efficiency, 100% chance of success.

    I think that in this case, its really a 100% Efficiency, 90% Efficiency, and 80%-150% Efficiency. And just as your Quality is based on your Control, the Collectability is based on your Perception. More Perception, more Collectability is added each time you do one of those actions.

    That would make sense, just need to figure out how collectability is calculated from perception. Right now two hits gives me 230 collectability whereas the minimum accepted for turn in is 240. Annoyingly I have to use another collection hit for that measly 10 points.

    It seems that the 115 is cap, at least for the Lv50 nodes. While I'm not lv60 yet, I have noticed that Methodical has never been higher than 115 so far. I have upgraded my gear a little (to the point that my perception is around 70 higher now), but saw no difference in numbers except maybe for gathering the higher level items (none higher than 110-115 though).

    My guess is that it's either bugged (unlikely) or specifically designed to be reliant on RNG, regardless of your level and stats. You get access to 3-5 items depending on RNG early on, but as you get to 60, you'll only be able to collect 1-3 sort of thing. Probably to balance the speed at which you gain exp and scrips. If your goal is to end up with 5 items, you have to gamble your chances of 2 of that 15 wear ability to get you to 240 and risk going over 30 wear, or settle for 4 items if you have the GP to save yourself after an initial bad appraisal. Very annoying that there's yet another RNG element to hate FFXIV gathering/crafting life for, but them's the breaks. Better than nothing, you just can't be careless.
