Except our FF3 throwback story ended by completely ignoring the cautionary note that it was the Tower's overflowing light that started the downfall of Allag, deciding instead that light is always good and should absolutely be made to drown out the darkness, no matter the sacrifice. A bunch of the Azys Lla side-quests drop really ironic echoes of the message at the end of CT, though, so it may be that they fully intend to do a 180 on that plotline later.

Don't get me wrong, I know where you're coming from, but this game's writers have only ever been good at teasing that level of complexity.
