Welp, this both simplifies and complicates things. I no longer have to wonder about an entire group of white robes, but am now completely at a loss as to what angle Elidibus is playing. . .

No, Elidibus said the person in black that looks like 2.0 Derplander is the WoD. The dev only said that it IS Elidibus and not a new White Ascian.

If you look at my post right after that one, you'll see the pre-edit version where it's clear he's talking about Elidibus.

While the why Elidibus and the Warrior of Darkness are on Menphina (the moon) eludes me, I believe the midlander is a placeholder for what may end up being a reflection of the pc. I'd love to fight a reflection of our character.

I don't doubt that we'll fight him in the future, but I bet that when we do, it'll be a light or full party fight so he can't take the form of every possible player (gender aside too). He'll probably just be a dark derplander.

Unless the fight is with Elidibus and we fight the WoD (ourselves) as an individual, zoned, part of the fight.

The Dark Derplander is, in my opinion, what our PCs CAN become if they keep going on their path - getting more and more powerful, annihilating everything that stands in their way (including dragons which, per se, were not evil at all).

Though our characters seem to be the exception, to that happening. Having such power and strength has never gone to their heads and showing that no 'job' is too small. Even helping a few Doman children go on a mini adventure.

would make sense. but a fight against the fabled derplander would be a nice change of pace.
