Because it was fun! The Moogles are adorable and surprisingly strong at some points.

I don't remember the exact wording but it literally stated that they are in places you have to fly to, not on the ground u.u
    That's cheating

I'm finished all the quests for now, and I'm EXHAUSTED. I spent all damn day clearing these quests! I thought people in the morning complaining about it were just overreacting. I thought people complaining in the afternoon were maybe just getting stuck and taking too long. In the evening I was just cursing out every quest giver I saw, knowing that there would be two more hidden behind. When I finished everything on the map, I returned to the main story only to find a sidequest that sent me back. And, surprise surprise, that sidequest turned into even more. And when I finally get those done and I think I can leave, I get sent back ONE MORE TIME!! I complained to /sh, and not 5 minutes later another person was complaining. The whole damn day was filled with people complaining about Moogle Hell. WHY!? Why SE? I was enjoying everything until this point. Q_Q

I think I'm mostly finished now (map is clear of quest markers *_*) and I found something else to complain about...xD
There isn't exactly a lot of...story or lore or anything to the moogle quests, different from other quest givers (dragons, human cultures, beastmen tribes, etc.) which are at least interesting because you can learn new things about their culture or something like that, moogle quests all come down to "Moogles don't fight because we are afraid of everything, so you do it".

The only real story you get in all these side quests is the one involving Mogleo, and it's not even that bad (maybe because he is actually motivated to do stuff, a VERY rare sight in this species xD).
The problem is...these quests should be built on one another, since they tell a chronological story.
    But they aren't!
So right in the middle of our noble quest to help Mogleo become brave and well-known enough to join the moogle corps, you get quests in which Mogleo already is PART OF the moogle corps and other moogle talking about how he recently joined, only to go back to another quest involving him where he tries hard to become recognized...it's all messed up and it shouldn't be and it bothers me even more because his quest chain was one of the few things I actually enjoyed in this horrible hell known as the Churning Mists .-.

I have to agree with this.... even my wife, who will stop to read every flappin' word ever printed, go so sick of the EXACT. SAME. THING. with the moogle quests and simple skipped all of the dialogue.

How many times do I really need to "find the moogles"?

Personally I found these quests hilarious and I never had much trouble finding their things. It's quick exp for minimal effort and a good laugh at their antics, what's not to love? ^.^
