That is a really great video! It illustrates your idea very well ^^

However, I believe the Pet mechanic of the Summoner should still be included to please players who enjoy that too (like myself). If Summoners were able to build there class towards either mechanic or even hybrid themselves between the two, it would add a lot more depth to the job than what it's been any other Final Fantasy!

    Great idea, man!

decent idea, I just don't think it would work. In a party with more than 1 SMN, only 1 can cast, so what do the others do? HEAL!??!

I would prefer a mount or pet system. Or a system where you assume the form of the summon.

Personally I wouldn't mind seeing Summoners being fused with a certain Primal themselves, becoming an avatar of that Primal and unlocking combat abilities from that primal.

You could be using the abilities the beastmen are using right now.

I love this idea, though I dont think panning would be nice, just have the same effects so multiple people can summon and ofc as the camera doesnt pan it will be fine and can be done all in realtime.

I much prefer summons that come, do a skill then leave, give them multiple skills too, keep pet summoning to a beastmaster class.

The panning is just something I used to illustrate what was happening. If it was part of the spell, it would be client-side for SMN only. Everyone else in the Party would have a normal view of the action.

I see I see, would their be an option? Maybe like how you can turn camera focusing on/off for NPC events, that same option could control weather the client user wishes to focus on the summon or not, because he/she may be valuable member or even a temp healer and thus cannot be spending x amount of seconds watching a CS while in the midst of battle.

I really liked the control you had over summons in FFX, for example, as compared to FFVIII. It seems really inapplicable to have a cutscene-esque summon in an MMO, also. And even if it wasn't a cutscene, it would still be depriving summoners of player input.

I never really loved SMN classes in the past, but after watching your video it makes me want to play one. Love your concept of it. personally I prefer this Final Fantasy Tactics type SMN over any pet class type summoner any day. Honestly, I think pet classes should not even be in XIV. They are always an eye sore.
