Steam price for Heavensward in BRL discrepancy

I would like to alert and hopefully grab an answer about the OUTRAGEOUS price in BRL for the expansion.

People paying in Reais have to pay the equivalent of US$60 (R$ 179,90) for the Standard Edition, and US$73 (R$ 229,99) for the CE. For a comparison, ARR Standard itself is being sold for approximately 16 dollars, in a price parity in conformity with the rest of Steam when people use BRL as the standard currency.

Does Square have anything to say about it?

Edit: It seems like the same problem is happening at PSN. Prices are at the range Steam put up, but Playstation Store's own "blog" states the prices as R$80.99 for the Standard Edition and R$121.99 for the Collector's Edition, which are sane values.

What I believe or not is completely irrelevant, contrary to your insinuation. What is important is to raise attention to the issue (because it is an issue, whomever the fault is) - and Squeeny as the creator and publisher of the game should at least not ignore it.

Markups outside the US have been going on since time immemorial, I sincerely doubt SE set a higher price to bleed money out of people. Typically this is up to the retailer, in this case Valve. This is not including tarriffs/import tax/etc, your local tax man has to get his cut as well. The reverse is often the same should someone import something to the US, I recall way back in the days of yore the local Borders or if you were lucky enough Anime Shop selling single episodes of anime for prices that you could take a family out to dinner on :/

It's 40 USD for us Aussies, I don't see a problem with that pricing (it is cheaper on the SE store for AU, but that's on Valve for still not having AUD even though it was announced last September).

Right. $300 for an expansion pack because of the figure I imagine(?), that was crazy.

I have to pay $66.49 for CE in Canada on Steam. Short answer is, if you don't want to pay it, don't buy it. You'll just have to deal with it. People have complained about price variances depending on country for years and there's no plans on them ever being changed.
