Anyone else finding these side quests to be the worst they've come across in an MMO?
Not liking the fact you get given one or two quests at a time making you run back and forth across the whole map. Give me Moogles over this any day!

Not so bad. I just grab all that I can in one go. I found the moogles to be far worse. I'm just a little annoyed that the town and the rest of the mapmare two separate areas. Though I'm sure they have a reason for this.
The quests there are fine in my opinion. They come in reasonable batches that you can do all at once. Those moogles were definitely far worse (although unlike most I still enjoyed them for the most part).
Current speculation is that Idyllshire is going to be the new Rev Toll, especially given certain NPCs that can be found there. I expect we're going to see some dramatic transformations there over the course of the 3.x patch cycle as they rebuild the city. Having it be a separate map may be necessary to handle some of the future changes they have planned for the area.
Given that the location of Alexander's summoning from the trailers has him located directly up the river from them I wonder if he may have some impact on them as well. It's fairly easy to guess who will summon him and why now. He's famous for firing giant holy lasers and that tower directly above Idyllshire looks like a prime target to me.
FLYING!! Once you start flying, you won't care how far apart they are! Also, make sure you unlock all the chocobo porters. Those will save alot of time going back and forth while you get attuned to the aether currents.

lol agreed I would take moogles over these one quest for 1 hand in ....for 40 min straight yup. then again you will run out ..
♥ MORE HIGH HEELS + INSTANCED HOUSING! ♥!
I do the same and I agree it isn't that bad. What I would of liked however is a large aetheryte crystal to have been added to the map below aka the dravanian hinterlands. I also prefer this town and the zone (including hinterlands) to the moogle zone aka churning mists and moogle quests overall.

Personally, it gives us something to do. ( I have not got to that point yet, but I like having things to do).
I was thinking along the same lines. It seemed to me that they must be planning lots for it, or that they just found it too much of a pain in Rev Toll. Zoneing in all the time will be a little annoying. But I'm all for it, if it means seeing a growing and changing world.

I agree, they should have made it like Mor Dhona, town and zone in one map. The Town feels kinda small, and the Dravanian hinterlands isnt even that big of a zone.
But yea, the quests in idily dokily shire is a little annoying, where it has you running back and forth between the city and an NPC in dravanian hinterlands and you can only do one quest at a time too, and you do this for literally an hour...

Tanking is a job, DPSing is a science and Healing is an art.
If the Tank dies, it's the Healer's fault. If the Healer dies, it's the Tank's fault. If the DPS dies, it's their own damn fault.
when you consider what a certain npc says your not far off the money personally i hope it is... love the whole hinterlands ares its breath taking :3Current speculation is that Idyllshire is going to be the new Rev Toll, especially given certain NPCs that can be found there.
