How about a new Fantasia system?

So after talking to a GM yesterday about how I messed up using a Fantasia I wondered how others put up with using Fantasias.

What happened is I used a Fantasia for the first time and not knowing what I was doing I accidentally confirmed without making any changes to my character and trying to get help from support they told me I had no other choice but to spend $10 on another bottle.

Why can't Fantasias work on a timer instead? Use Fantasia, log out to adjust character, log in and *poof* you get a little CD. You run around see how you like the character and after at least an hour the CD wears off and you're no longer allowed to adjust the character.

That would be really cool, never thought of that, I can make adjustments, check the emotes and the look, if I like it I keep the changes, if I dont I can change again.

Who wouldn't want that ?

Awesome Idea! Unfortunately, I don't see this working well. There would be a huge influx of players saying, "So, I lost track of time with the cool-down and ended up losing all my progress. Or, I ran out of time and didn't like what I changed to so I went back to my original form but still don't like it, can I have it restored?" I get it, though. I changed to a male Au 'ra and it was all wrong. I went ahead and bought a Fantasia to go kitty boy.

Time ends -> you keep the changes.
If you don't have the time, you shouldn't have used it.

Zero downsides comparing to current system.
I agree wholeheartedly with OP.

There are also zero downsides for SquareEnix.
It will actually make more people encouraged to buy it.

Great idea, I wouldn't mind having this as an option because it would help with making major adjustments like race changes and whatnot. (I usually end up buying at least one, most times more, additional fantasias just for minor tweaks like skin color, eye color, jaw/lip shape etc. which seems like a waste of money but leaves me unhappy with my character until I do.)

On the other hand, it would cause issues for those who accidentally pop a fantasia then leave it for later when they have a better opportunity to redesign their character. (I've done this before myself.) it would also take away from revenue earned through fantasias since a lot of players do tend to shell out $ for tweak-fantasias. Hopefully SE would consider giving us some form of Fantasia trial though.
