You're right that the zones are definitely not empty. I see loads of people out questing. I haven't gotten out to churning mists yet (running the dungeon that opens it tonight), so my opinion may change, but so far the mobs haven't been tough. Higher in HP? Sure. But not really that dangerous. But people avoiding the areas ? Hmm no. Yesterday while wandering in Churning Mists, I saw 6 corpses lying on the field...
Healers flying or riding by actually stop to heal/raise people in need. And that's exactly why I for one am pleased to see those tough monsters in the open world ^^
Insanity is a gradual process, don't rush it - Ford Prefect
I felt the quests in Heavensward are way more fun because you can't 2 shot every monster. This whole expansion is way more fun because you have to pay attention to things. Just because your feelings are hurt doesn't mean everyone else's is.
A lot of people aren't doing fates because they are trying to do all the quests, since the quests are enough to get you to 60. Not a lot of need for fates right now. Also some people might find it more fun to do dungeons instead of fates. From what i hear dungeons give lots of xp. Not to mention I've seen lots of people doing fates, but there is so much to do fates aren't going to be people's number 1 priority. Why u so mad?!?

Yes we did want stronger mobs in zones but thing is the rewards in fates need to be worth it. 14k exp from a boss fate that's just wrong.
But it will be adjusted I'm sure they wanted to limit the exp during the early access I think.
When I entered the Sea of Clouds for my MSQ, I specifically ran to the objectives without my mount because I wanted to fight the new monsters on the way. Yet I guess it's all people because you want to make generalized statements.
The large zones and "tougher" mobs are a breath of fresh air.
3.0 Fates need an exp boost. It's sad. I expect to see new fate trains in the new areas. I'm sick of Northern Thanny. Once you do the quest it's such a pain to get exp 50-51 just to get to DV to exp.. only to have it slap you in the face with a wet paper napkin of exp... Some one explain to me why the old lvl 50 dungeons aren't giving any exp either .. unless your in daily roulette and once done you get nothing?

It has nothing to do with difficulty to me. Fates seem to give around 15k EXP, quests give around 20-40k so it is more beneficial to do quests and I do those first. I then do the daily hunt marks because they give around 20k EXP plus hunt tokens for use later. Once I do the daily hunts I then do things like sightseeing which again gives around 18k EXP, after I have exhausted all the quests, the hunts and the sightseeing things then I might do fates which unfortunately not many people do right now because I assume they are doing same as me and leaving fates until there is no other better EXP gaining way left on that map. I do the fates that drops items like for example the Fat Chocobo Card I got from one though even before exhausted other EXP methods mentioned above.
I think this is how should be though as in fates should be used as an alternative but not equal way to level since I do not think people should be skipping over all the story related quests including side quests in zones and just grinding fates. If fates offered equal EXP to for example quests then people would lose out on understanding the world, events and people present in HW and that should be avoided if possible from a development angle since makes a mockery of all the effort that went into designing that story, characters and world state explained through those quests by the developers if people just skip it all for grinding fates. Fates should always give less EXP than quests, hunt marks and sightseeing log in my opinion.
Lets not forget people are mostly working on their primary character class still but once that is done and they start leveling their alt classes having exhausted all the quests then fates will be farmed just as much as always have in past. So give it some time and the fate parties swarming maps will be present again soon enough once people start leveling their other classes after finished level their primary one. I haven't tried doing HW leves yet but I think they are good exp however they are dependent on leve allowance so they should give a reasonable amount more than things like fates which have no limitation other than spawn time rotation. Dungeons are also an alternative people might use instead of fates but they should give more EXP than fates too since it equals practice that can use to help others if do dungeons multiple times while doing fates helps teach no-one much of value.

I don't think it's so much that people aren't enjoying the mobs they requested, it's more about exp distribution. Players are having to choose between faster exp and doing content they enjoy, and many are just choosing other things over the hw fates right now. I, for one, have been questing a lot; others I know have been running dungeons. I have seen quite a few out in the new areas fighting fates though.
OP if it's too hard for you go play an easier game. The majority are enjoying the increased difficulty. As for FATEs people are doing them. I see people doing FATEs left and right. I was doing them at first to try them out, but the experience you get is horrible. Most people are doing the main quests and side quests for experience. If FATEs in ARR gave the same amount of experience equivalent no one would do them either. Has nothing to do with difficulty because the new FATEs are not that hard unless you try soloing. Once most people hit 60 and go to level a secondary, more people will be doing FATEs.
Are you kidding. Not true at all. Even when I am 2 levels ahead of a mob with up to date gear, they still get me to low health. They hit a lot harder than ARR mobs. It's not just more health.
