Just wait until 3.1 where we get our new Relics and the impending "Grind FATEs for Atma!" style quest, then people will be doing FATEs.

I've very much enjoyed the added difficulty to the open world, things are still far too weak though but I certainly appreciate the effort, and the moment you unlock flying (as I predicted) everything is a joke, though it works with gathering nicely (and am I crazy, or as DoL level they're getting less HP? Certainly adds more to the danger I suppose). FATEs have really impressed me at least, only issue is they're not really worth spending time on. I've enjoyed the majority of the ones I've done, but I'm not going to sit around grinding them when I still have quests to do. Perhaps for a second and third 60.

Speaking directly about the FATEs, my guess about the experience from them ties in with how it worked in 2.0 at first. The FATE xp wasn't great, but when you hit 50, you got a buff to all FATE xp gained. My guess is HW will give you increased FATE xp from 50-60 once you get your first 60, providing you with something to smash on while you level other jobs and are sitting in the dungeon queue. That's just my guess, though. I don't know if it's actually the case.

You're talking about the armory bonus. It's not active upon hitting max level, but on every class below your highest (for instance, if you have lancer at 53 and blm at 51, blm will get the bonus).

It's also a 50% increase to mob xp and fate xp.

Which doesn't change the efficiency of HW fates vs ARR late game fates due to how close their initial xp values are.

Few people in a zone fighting single monsters and nobody doing Fates.

Those very same people who wanted the sense of danger are in the lower zones doing Old fates.
So why aren't the ones who wanted this out there fighting these fates? A little to tough for you?

I knew this would happen, We will see at level 60 if more people do it, though I doubt it.

I was against it, why ask for something you aren't going to do. Reminds me of SOA expansion on FFXI elites asking for really hard monsters but never did anything in those area's and it was dead.
Care to tell us all how you know that the people grinding low level fates are the exact same ones that requested harder open world content? Sounds to me like you're just making sweeping generalisations and assumptions to make it look like you have the faintest glimmer of an argument.

The fact is right now 99% of players are doing the MSQ and dungeons. No one wants to do fates right now because there are more important things. In 2.0 fates were primarily used for leveling alt jobs due to the 50% armoury xp bonus so until large number of players start leveling secondaries your observations are entirely meaningless.

It honestly just sounds like you're salty about the enemies being tougher and you're looking for an excuse to say 'I told you so'. Rather childish if you ask me.

I solo'd a HW FATE on Astrologian as I passed by it, and it did demand my attention in that were I to pull 3 mobs at once, I'd have to spend more time self healing than DPS'ing. So I burned it down two mobs at a time, finished it in a few minutes, and was rewarded with a paltry 14k exp. Having supplemented my AST's leveling with Coerthas and N.Than FATES, needless to say I was disappointed in the turnout and promptly went on my way to my MSQ waypoint. The FATE's are in need of an exp buff, or we've yet to see how quickly level 50+ characters in FATE parties will be able to clear FATE's.

Open world mobs are more than just a nuisance now, which is a nice change. Although a bit spongy at lower levels, they do provide some danger to the world, a welcome and fitting change to the harsh landscapes of Ishgard.

You are right I am picking them out of the crowd of people who wanted this.
For the ones who didn't stayed in the area's they knew wouldn't be too tough to gain exp and have to struggle to make ends meat.
The question is why ask for something if nobody was going to do them?

Meaning no reason to add that stuff if its just gonna sit there at least in old area's people would stop to kill the monster here you fly over or ignore it to get to destination ignore fates too me it was a waste of time putting this stuff out there if it wasn't going to be played.

Sure its too early to say that but its new expansion and I understand people are leveling 30 jobs but I see them already in their 50's and yet nobody still in those area's so yeah I am calling out those who asked for it.

Its why I believe SE should gimp the exp on old fates to push those level 50's into new area's. I mean you can get angry or pissed about what I am saying but its 100% true it was on forums for few months tell me it wasn't?

I have even seen people saying it would be dumb to do that because nobody would be playing it and judging from what you guys have said monsters have too much hp and low exp.

I call it how I see it.

anyways that's how I feel and we'll see if it changes as I said though I doubt it as long as old content dominates the new.

You seem to be under the impression that no matter how it's implemented people should be happy, which is ridiculous. Yes, people wanted tougher field mobs, and it may not have been implied every same second as that was suggested, but it's obvious when people want something to be tougher, they want equivalent reward from it. The Fates in the new areas are trash, many have established this. So what if they got tougher mobs? It doesn't mean jack shit if they are there just for being fancy dmg sponges.

And nerfing the Fates that are actually useful won't win any favors from anyone. They just need to actually make being in the new zones worth it.

On Odin most of HW areas are full of people bashing monsters for quests, dailies or raw materials. Of course once we unlock the ability to fly in the area, we don't stay on the ground, we just fly from quest giver to the red circle on the map.

FATE on the other hand are quite empty unless it is an achievement FATE (and then it is a pain because the monsters simply disappear from your screen ala 2.0).

But people avoiding the areas ? Hmm no. Yesterday while wandering in Churning Mists, I saw 6 corpses lying on the field...
Healers flying or riding by actually stop to heal/raise people in need. And that's exactly why I for one am pleased to see those tough monsters in the open world ^^

not the players' fault that they made all the new FATEs give as low EXP as the old FATEs.

As a healer, this is a lot of fun for me in open world areas now. I'll spot a hapless adventurer surrounded by angry mobs on the brink of death, toss them a couple heals, and stand by them to help bring the enemy down. Sometimes I'll get a thanks, sometimes nothing, but it doesn't matter to me. It's just a joy to help others in need and play with other adventurers, even if it's just to smack down a few mobs for less than a minute.
