    WHM - PIE/MND/CRIT/SS stat

Most of the new gears contain PIE/MND/SS/CRIT. Where has all the DET gone ?

While I'm very fine with MND/SS/CRIT, the PIE I'm receiving from the gears (currently lvl59 / i146) seems way too much.

I DO dps, quite a lot even, but even so, I end up most boss with around 50/60% of my mana (out of the gigantic 12k mp pool).

In fact, as this has been recurrent in my last runs, I ended up switching jewels to more DET/VIT/CRIT by using a few items that aren't primarily designed for healers.

At the current lvl, the loss of PIE (and a bit of MND consequently) seems rather insignificant compared to the benefits I get from using different gear.

Has anyone come to the same conclusion ? Maybe this changes radically at level 60 ? Generally speaking, any input about these emphasized 3.0 stats will be appreciated.

Your MP isn't designed to tank out at the end of a 3 minute 4 man dungeon boss where you don't have to heal half the time. It needs to hold out over the course of a 12 minute encounter where you cast Cure 3 more than Stone 3.

Also the leveling dungeons are much easier this go round since people presumably have learned to dodge avoidable damage, and there's not a ton of unavoidable damage.

Once you hit 60, Law gear is pretty heavy on the Piety and Determination. Everything but the bracelets, earrings and robes have Piety as a secondary if I remember correctly. Half of your stuff will have Determination too.

Only time can tell how the stat spread will look on Esoterics gear.

For Bismark and Ravana extreme you will need all you Mana (;´Д`) especially if the other healer is undergeared
I've learned to appreciate every little bit of my PIE...

I was never a big fan of pie builds, but considering assize restores mp based on % of total mp, full pie builds might become the BiS come heavensward.

Weirdly, I'm finding a lack of god PIE on gear o.o
Though, yeah... the lack of DET has me a little concerned. I saved some of the healer gear with a ton of CRIT on it, just in case I happened to level SCH to 60.

The gear stats on a lot of the gear received via quests have me a little annoyed - though understandably it's for players that, in the future, don't have full set of augmented gear. I'm not a PIE build per say, but I do like PIE on my gear to supplement (IE, majority MND, a few points in PIE and then hugging PIE stats on gear). I have a high tendency to ham DPS any moment I'm not healing and to go through mp like water - even with Shroud often used (and now, Assize). I'm pretty aggressive in keeping 'in motion' (casting). x_x; I've also noticed the sudden lack of DET and Accuracy. It had me raising my brow, but also made me wonder if they tweaked the Accuracy requirements (I doubt it - probably meant for Alexander/new tome gear to be BiS with better stats for the harder fights).

Entering HW, a lot of the gear, for a while, was terrible vs a full set of Augmented Poetics in just about every gear piece. I didn't see the benefit of 1 mind and 1 vit with a few points of mdef more than what I was already wearing when it traded out so much PIE for literally nothing else to make up for it/justify switching the Poetics out. I wasn't going to sacrifice PIE for a tiny bit of heightened stats - it just seemed detrimental or felt possibly a little foolish. A good chunk of the gear exchanged my PIE for SS.... - and I don't even know if SS is even useful in Heavensward. As far as I know, SS in ARR was useless unless super-stacked. If it actually does help, now, then I'd be willing to consider it... >_> If anyone knows?
But for now... *Hugs PIE, hisses at the sudden lack of it on gear*
Only till I hit 58/59 and seeing Vault gear/level 58 quest gear did I see stuff that would make me budge more often.
Still trying to ween myself off the last of my poetics. -3-

Unrelated to stats.... the HW healer gear is meh looking. Everything is so fat and robey - like wearing a big dress. No new glams for me D: (*Battlemage top glamour for now.... until HA coat is finally won* =__________= *Shakes fist*)

Skill/Spell speed affects DoTs/HoTs now. Like I built my Nirvana Zeta with Max DET/PIE and rest in spell speed. Post-60, I still feel that will be the most preferred stat mix.

Even back in coil end-game I didn't feel I always needed the max PIE build as possible. However it does help with progression and fixing mistakes. Plus eventually you learn to optimize and not overheal too. Once things were comfortable I tended to switch Max DET gear which shaves some PIE. Now with Assize and the higher cost of skills, PIE will probably will be a good option to consider again with progression. But I do hope getting most DET will be possible again with the new gear without much of a loss to PIE like it did with a Dreadwyrm/Ironworks gear. Most the gear was great for WHMs then!

Also I would always go with higher MND>PIE when it comes to gear progression. Having increased healing throughput will always be superior especially when people are undergeared. Even if it's at the cost of some cushy PIE.
