If you want a taste of flying before you unlock it in a zone, and you don't want to slog through aggro and BS, please do note that the chocobo porters between hamlets in each zone FLY so you don't have to muck around with it.
Good birds.

I didnt mind finding any of the currents for flying, in wow for a long time we had to reach max lv before opening it which was 10x worse....(not to mention the hoops they introduced recently to unlock it on wod) hence the "oh hold" for wow lol
So for me SE design of getting the flight somewhat late/zone was still great and I enjoyed them all so farWe will enjoy the flight for a long time yet in these zones, they did an excellent job of flying imo. +1
(just need to add more quests to lv se. ...oh and fix blm ty)

As I have mentioned before, flying in each area should be granted after you unlock ALL the aether mist quest (this is rather substantial since most of them are buried under other quests), plus attuning to at least 3 aether mist found outdoor. That is a good amount of time to force players to explore. Then give rewards if you find the rest of the aether mist, plus achievement for each area. Maybe have NPC that give you a quests to find the rest of the aether mists. This will preserver the exploration spirit, and not punishing people with grating insane inane quests before they can fly in each zone. As well as encouraging exploration even further.
As it is now, this is one of the biggest turns off in HW (and the moogle quests). The same group of players who absolutely hate having to deal with MSQ 2.1-2.55 will hate HW even more, since it is the same grind, double the areas (meaning you gotta explore even more) and fetch quests galore... SE seriously need to trim the fat, and FOCUS. They were able to create such an amazing experience with 2.0 story with the right amount of fetch quests as well as a roller coaster ride to the finish.

only map that annoyed me finding them in was sea of clouds.. all the rest were pretty simple so far, i enter map explore as much as i can finding all the currents so then all i have is the quest 1s :3
Only thing about flying so far that annoys me is the speed consistency bug.

I love it. It makes me explore the zone to the depths of hell and back, and really makes me feel involved with the surroundings. I much prefer this version of flying than buying it, like you can in Wow.

*players complain there is no reason to explore the maps*
*SE gives a great reason to explore*
*players complain they have to explore the map*
/sigh

don't worry they hate you as well![]()

I totally agree, FATES should give you at least 40k xp with the bonus, minimum. Each zone should have levequest that give you 30k exp to facilitate leveling up and exploration. And these 6 new dungeons need to give at least 6k-10k xp per kill with armory bonus. I think they are going with super conservative tone to stretch the basic content through 3 months before next patch which is understandable. Hot fixes probably coming soon in 2 months.
