Having issues with socializing with people

It's not really the same as having a friend... I used to want to tell people my gender to get them to pay attention to me. I was naive and such... I still am. I was lonely... I still am.

I hide my gender now in game. That kind of attention just ends in trouble. People just get mad at you if you don't respond how they want. Not everyone you meet will do that, but enough to make it not fun anymore.

My recommendation to OP is just find a single friend or maybe more than one. Make your own linkshell and invite people you like. Some might leave but, maybe if you can make one good friend then that would be enough.

I'm not an introverted person but I'm quite shy to approach someone so can relate to that, OP. Right now I'm on a free company that I feel like I'm not welcome. People barely talk to me or each other and when they do it's a little clicke-y. So I'll be leaving in a few days to search for a new place to be. If I can give you some advices:

• Don't feel like you need a FC in order to have fun.
It helps a lot, but I realized that some things tend to be better when they simply happen when we're not looking for it. Don't look at FCs, look at people. Saw someone nice? Check their FC, try to talk to someone from that FC and see if it's a nice place to be. But if it isn't:

• Don't be afraid of leaving.
Like someone mentioned, you wouldn't be thinking about doing a server transfer if you were truly have with the company you have. Plus, you're paying 15 bucks a month for it. Make it worth. If you feel like doing a transfer, 18 bucks sounds fair enough for a better social experience. If you don't have anything or anyone that really makes you have second thoughts about a server transfer, just do it. Better do a move not knowing where you'll end up at than staying at the same spot while the world keeps running.

• Use the forums.
I've met some really nice people here (I'm looking at you, Siena, and also you, Gilt.), even though we don't talk that much, it means a lot to me. This is a place you can find people and interact someway easier than in the game itself. I still have an awkward social experience ingame and I might do a server transfer in the future, but you'll never know if someone's nice if you never try to talk to them. There's a lot of people like you ingame, just waiting for someone to talk to, and I bet someone must have seen your character but didn't sent you a tell out of shyness or fearing it would be too creepy or awkward. So you're not alone.

If you visit Gilgamesh someday I'll be glad to play with you, or at least spend hours chattin' about random stuff for the laughs. I'm Ark Valhadr.
And that also applies to anyone else that are or plan to go to Gilga. A lot of people there are looking for friends and a good social experience, myself included.

Like the title says i am kind of a introvert to make it more clear i am mildy autistic
now my problem is that i am kind of a solo player while i want other people to play with aswell.

well i dont have a FC i have switch between 5 FC's and i always felt like i was on the background of everything.

I have the same problems in games, not necessarily for the same reason though. Sometimes it takes time, and after the leveling up phase of a game it gets harder to do. You will have to put in effort, when people want to run stuff volunteer to go every single time. Make sure you get on TS and participate in fc chat, if people dont know who you are you will always be in the background. Eventually you will find some people who have the same sort of interests and that you will have fun conversing with.

Every once in a while I run into other Lalafells with the same macro set up and the two of us bond in the way that only popotos can. This display has even stopped a Titan Extreme duty finder group from disbanding because after about 45 seconds of watching two Lala's clasping hands, everyone forgot about blaming others for what went wrong in the run.

You're on the ERP server though just go to Uldah and shout
