For crafting classes, you can push "N" or go to Logs > Crafting Log to open up your crafting list. With the right items for a recipe in your inventory, you can synthesize (craft) an item to gain experience in the low levels.

Later on, you'll really want to do Levequests and company turn-ins for crafting experience points however.

Leve quests as EdenArchangel mentions are great for leveling crafters (and gatherers) but also to add you can get extra EXP the first time you craft each item, so you can find some bonus exp just crafting one of each item (although again, at a certain point it is just easier to bulk craft an item for a particular level you will spam).

I casually leveled my crafters by completing the daily GC turn in and Ixali beastmen quests (beastmen quests unlocked later). when I felt the need to go quickly I would either buy very cheap/poorly undercut items on the AH or make them in bulk that matched a particularly easy to do leve quest (don't waste gil on things that aren't a complete steal, specially when it isn't so bad to craft them yourself or wait for quest timers). Some leve quests require you to travel and or produce inefficient exp to cost recipes, keep an eye on that. You also have a weekly challenge log that can net you some good exp. Be careful though, the challenge log can be worked on by any class/job and then get the reward on another by topping it off on that one, which is a good thing when planned and a bad thing when you weren't paying attention lol. The log has a reward for nearly everything.

For leveling a DoW or DoM doing your daily roulette is a great choice as you get a huge exp bonus the first time a day. Guildhests will give you a big exp bonus the first time completed on each specific job (again DoW/DoM only). Leve's are not really useful past the early levels and people tend to do FATEs instead (when daily roulette isn't available), but don't let what is most efficient control your enjoyment - FATE leveling can be boring lol.

Finally there is this thing called the armoury bonus, it can greatly help you level your other classes faster, in short it works by boosting your exp on classes lower than your highest class and for levels below 50 it can peak at 100% bonus exp and for levels 50+ it can peak at 50% bonus exp. So it can be helpful to focus on a particular job to 50 and then level things after that. Don't do it if it causes you to miss out on the enjoyment of switching around though! You'll need to switch around a little anyways to get some cross class abilities and meet certain job requirements.
