Machinist wut?!?!?!?

Being a long time Tank I thought I'd try machinist, but was immediately confused.
Everything around it seems fun! The only complaint I have is the walking animation and gear glitching when I put away weapon...... Also I've yet to receive fantasia!!
How's machinist working so far for ya? or other new classes (I was hoping DRK would have a wider variety of bulky swords)

I've only played Astrologian and I can safely say its a lot more going on than White Mage, but compared to Scholar I can't say as I never unlocked it despite having a 50 Summoner.

I find it really fun and refreshing coming from DRG/SMN/NIN. The reliance on procs instead of a set rotation is a lot more engaging for me than pressing 1-2-3, alt+1, 7-8-9, alt+5, 1-2-3, etc

That rotation sounds so uncomfortable lol, for my DRG it's 1-2, R, T, F, 3-4-5 (G after F & 5 if BotD is up), i couldn't ever do the alting.

I use 1 - 4, ` with Shift+`, Shift+ 1 - 4, Q E with Shift Q E.
Then on my mouse, scroll click, wheel tilt, shift for those, 1 - 6 on the thumbnumpad and shift 1- 6 there as well.

My friend just looks at me like im an alien when he sees me playing, but then, hes a clicker. Never uses hotkeys, ever. (Still trying to convince him to convert from WoW >_>)
