Workshop with a small FC

Ok, I have been waiting for this since it was announced, but I now have a huge problem with the workshop.

Yes I am the only active player on my FC. Most jumped ship during the hate shout runs through CT.

With that said, how am I supposed to use the workshop and use the airships when it's MANDATORY that 4 FC members be in the workshop for crafting the production phases.

FIX: allow the use of hiring NPC crafters for FC's like mine in order to use it

Or

Find a way to fix the cap.

I know I am a minority amongst the majority of the FC's out there but to me, this makes the sea of clouds out of my reach for gameplay.

Having the same problem. My friends and I have a small FC for ourselves, but it's only 3 of us in it, and only two of us are crafters. Would be nice to be able to use the Workshop...

The crafters don't have to be in your FC, I think. You can have friends from other linkshells and FCs help out. They only have to be present when you push the button too; the adding of supplies can be done solo.

I get the frustration of small FCs over this, but group crafting was promised and this is the best that SE came up with.

this is wrong, you only need the one crafting to be in the FC you can get 3 friends to sit with you in a party.

also the other people in party can be lvl 1 crafters.

Same with me. My fc only has me and my husband and atm we don't feel comfortable to have anyone join our fc. So we can't access the fc workshop either. This is one of the only things I think se messed up on in this expac. They only thought about the big fc's and turned a blind eye on the smaller ones. I think everyone should be able to build airships doesn't matter if your in a big or a small fc. Please se I'm begging you fix this.

I don't know, it's one thing to have a small fc, it's another to literally have an "fc" of 2 or 3 people. It takes at least 3 to start an fc! They're intended to be groups...

Obviously you don't have to use them like that, but it seems weird to complain about a feature for free companies that you literally only need 4 people present to use.

As others have said, you can get help.

But the point of it is that it's a group activity...

Group crafting has been promised since 2010 (I wonder if they'll ever add the promised cake to the list of things you can make down there XD) but considering that they decided to take the FC route with it, the requirements are incredibly flexible. You can essentially solo the entire thing, crafting and handing in all of the items yourself if you want to (and have the required levels), and then just ask 3 friends/colleagues/strangers off the street of any level 1+ crafting class to join you for 10 seconds per stage to progress it.

When I heard it was FC based crafting requiring a party, I assumed it was level 50+ and required all members of the group to be from the FC.

I think this is a great compromise, although I do wish it was more interactive, using skills and things with other people and stuff like that.

I agree, I kinda figured it be like crafting, give each member X amount of time per step for them to discuss how or what step to do, basically to increase the Quality/Progress just on a larger scale.

I kinda have to agree with this. I'm from a small FC myself, but I think it's silly for us to complain about the group crafting requirements when only the party leader needs to be in the FC. You can get help.

I apologize in advance if the math is screwed up, but:

Each housing district has 8 wards with 60 plots. That's 480 plots in each district, 1440 per server. That means for every server there's only 1440 total houses that can be purchased, and that's for personal and FC combined. Out of the tens of thousands of players that are on your server. That means if you're able to use the crafting station at all, then your FC is one of the lucky 1440 whereas hundreds of others with at least 6+ people are completely locked out of the content.

Turn it into a service or something. Offer to help other FCs still saving for a house to get a jump on crafting airship parts by having them help you. Or offer to take volunteers with you on airship explorations if non FC members help with gathering materials/joining the craft party.
