Machinist needs serious attention

I have been playing Machinist since early release launch. 1111111 is very rare if you are managing everything properly. You have to manage cooldown-weaving and not just throwing a cooldown when it procs. You also need to manage you ammo instead of again, just throwing it when it comes off. Its not a PUSH ALLLLLL THE BUTTONS class.

First, we've ALL been playing MCN since lauch... all 1 week of it. You're not special.

Second, there's absolutely zero skill involved in making your combo proc. "Weaving" cooldowns between into your combo doesn't force procs. Saving Quick Reload for when you get a natural Slug proc will, in fact, guarantee a Clean Shot proc. But guess what, you're still waiting on that first natural proc. Which brings us right back to our "1, 1, 1, 1, 1, 1, 1, 1, 1..." nonsense.

Typically, from what I've heard, SE mainly listens to the JP community. Does anyone know if any of the JP players are seeing the same thing as we are? Do we happen to have any JP speakers that could take a look at the JP's forums or their version of reddit to see if they're posting any guides / complaints / comments on MCH?

quick question why keep on gb for that whole time? isnt 20% dmg auto attack? im just asking because on my mch 176i i only use gb during a burst cd after im done with my rotation i take off because rapid fire insta puts it back on after waiting 2mins for cds to come back

You don't keep GB on full time. From recorded numbers on Reddit, you lose damage with it on. GB / WM was supposed to drastically increase our damage to put us on par with blackmages from what I was told a dev said. However, 20% is insanely low in terms of damage. Auto attacks have been recorded to do more than 20%. The other problem is the cast times are too long. You could put out far more damage without it than with it. That's why you should keep it off unless you have rapid fire.

In other words, don't use GB unless you have rapid fire for burst, then take it off as soon as possible to prevent DPS loss.

Welcome to support-dps life guys

I think we MCH and BRDS understand this but other people don't. They expect us to pull numbers like other jobs and at the end of the day we just can't. I think also for a lot of us it's not just about low numbers (and we're talking below tank numbers in some cases) but the fact that some of our abilities make no sense and need to be tweaked some. Well for MCH at least, I can't speak for BRD. Got mine to 50 just so I'd have gear for my MCH and that's about it.

having played bard for most of my ARR time only switching to play nin when it came out. I was pretty hyped for another take on the range dps only to get hammered into wanna be mage class that does less dmg then everything but pld.

Im still Sticking it out thou just cleared Bismarck and ravana ex. since ravana ex is more of a mechanic heavy fight with bit less dps checks.

I frankly will not put Gauss on outside the burst rotation. and they better dam well in the incoming buff give us back free movement and auto attacks.

edit: just read the description again, rapid fire suppose to reduce cast time by 1.5, so even with rapid fire buff enable, all the skill with GB on should not be instant cast, they still have 1 sec cast time and GB equip should be 1,5 sec cast time and not instant

Most likely a bug though... instant cast with rapid fire is only supposed to happen when GB is on. When you cast rapid fire then gaus barrel, it casts it instant, rather than reducing its cast time as it should be doing.

So yeah, in next patch, expected a NERF. /joy
