    Same problem here. Everything else works fine for me like skype and multiple other games.

    A note: The chat works completely fine even during the spikes. I assume it's a separate server.

    This is a photo of two Tracert's I did to Midgardsormr. The game is practically unplayable for me. Dungeons are a nightmare of lag spikes. I tweeted this to Verizon support and the official FFXIV account and verizon support basically told me once it leaves their data centers it's out of their hands. Not happy with the reply but at least someones responding.

    Not telling you the whole truth though. They don't HAVE to use TATA (AS6453) to get you to Ormuco in Montreal. Verizon peers with everyone of Ormuco's main peers--they could arrange for you to use any one of them if they wanted to. You are going from Miami to Dallas, then up and over. They could put you on Cogent out of Atlanta and shoot you up the East Coast. They could just as easily put you on Level3 as well.

    I know this because Time Warner has been doing it for me for almost a year now. Route just changed again from Level3 to TATA. A couple weeks ago I was on Cogent for a while. It can be done...it's just getting them to do it that is the problem.

    I've had the same issues with this game since 2013, on and off. They started up again for me roughly a week before the early access period for Heavensward began. The game becomes red light/green light, and it's basically unplayable as you guys all know.

    Don't bank on this issue ever being fixed as, like I said, it's been around since 2013 with no resolution. I can't speak to any Tier 3 or TATA or whatever... I'm not computer savvy at all, and wouldn't even begin to know how to explain the issue to my ISP (this is assuming that, if I actually did know my stuff, Comcast would even let me get to someone further up than the nice foreign gentleman who always gives me a lengthy talk on how to unplug and replug my modem before hanging up on me and leaving me back at square one).

    For what it's worth, my issue resolved itself for most of the later part of 2013 and all of 2014 and 2015 up until just a week ago or so. So I'd hang in there and hope for the best. Other people have had good results playing around with things like WTFast I hear. I tried it, and it didn't really fix my issues though (although I could have probably played around with it's set up and route choices in more depth... and I was hesitant to do that because malwarebytes kept flagging it. Like I said, I don't know much about PC's, so if malwarebytes flags something I'm always going to err on the side of caution). That said, it's kind of ridiculous that I'd have to pay a second monthly fee to play this game.... They do offer a free trial though. You might want to check it out and see if it does anything for you.

    The trace route really makes this look like an ISP congestion/routing issue. There's really not a whole lot you can do at this point about it...

    Its not a server issue its an ISP issue. I have Verizon Fios and have experience this probably since FFXIV ARR was released. You dont really see it happen except during weekday primetime (around 6PM to 12ish) which kinda sucks cause thats my primary play time.

    Already made a thread on this issue and I've made a lot of tests with WinMTR. Can anyone help me make sense of this and tell me if the issue is with my ISP or the game servers?

    My ISP is Videotron, located in the same city as the servers...Montreal.
