Can we have dragon naming convention? [Spoilers?]

I like the names of the regular Dragons we come across, but I don't know what most of them mean!

This is just a request/suggestion to the if they post Dragon naming convention in the meaning.

So far we've only been given tidbits, but if you guys wanna contribute what's been translated thus far tat'll be great

According the quests with the Vath, they do not have a naming convention. I would assume this especially extends to the Gnath. The concept of naming an individual has only came to them recently through trading with hunters.

As for Dragons, as far as I can tell they have two separate names not including the first brood. Male npcs seem to have the convention go like this, Name letter name. Females on the other hand have a long singular worded name. As for how they name their young, still a mystery to me.

Yeah, since the Gnath/Vath share a hive-mind then perhaps they don't need a name. Just titles for their role in the tribe

So it is inconsistent with Bahamut (being legacied into the IP), Vishap (Armenian) and Tiamat (Babylonian), while others seem to appear with a Norse basis.

Tiamat, Bahamut, and Vishap are all large mythological creatures, with Vishap simply being a dragon in his own lore. The adjusted statement could be that mythological beasts favor being named dragons, with evidence from the Norse ones as well.

Is there a lore thread on dragons, actually?
We got so much new information on their physiology, history, etc. and it would be nice to have a place that sums it all up, other than some coffee-stained scraps of paper on my desk.

So far it seems the normal dragons have 3 types of names:
1. A single name like Gullinkambi (according to SaintAjora it's made up of Old Norse words).
2. A name made of 2 words, like Sooh Non.
3. A name made of 2 words with "y" as a middle syllable, like Toh y Thrah (at first I thought only young dragons had it and it maybe meant something like "son of.." but adult dragons have it as well).

The high dragons have their own lore and naming of course, since they are rooted in real world mythology. At first I also thought females had the single name and males the 2 word-names, but I'm pretty sure I saw some deviate from that pattern so I'm not sure anymore.

Dont young dragons eventually become adult dragons, why would their names change after becoming and adult?
