SE,we Mac users do not deserve this third class treatment!

Surely, PC and PS users are your main player bases. But please don't forget that we Mac users were, some of us are, PC or PS players of FFXIV as well. We do deserve the same level of treatment as everyone else regarding to the quality of game and support.

However, after today's release of the long-awaited Mac version of the game, I do feel that somehow I have been ripped off by some rogue traders in the market. I will not elaborate further on how terrible the Mac version gameplay is, since there are many threads about this issue posted on the forum and Reddit. So far, there has been no official response to this due the timezone factor. (In fact, there has been quite a lot of complaints about the Mac performance in the Japanese section of the forum yesterday, and SE responded by saying that they should wait until the completion of today's maintenance. Well, it seems the maintenance solved nothing.)

The whole experience of waiting for the Mac version is awful. We have been provided with not a single word about the process of receiving code, download etc. after our purchase. SE left us wondering in the wilds up until today. Furthermore, we have been punished for buying the Mac bundle by depriving us the right for early access. OK fine, we accepted this penalty and considered this was a 'reasonable' trade off for the arrival of Mac edition of the game. Many of us have painfully waited for the past four days before the official launch by seeing all of our friends and guild members enjoying themselves in the new world. Finally, we can enter the new world today and what have we got at the end? hehe

Yes, I know Mac is not good for gaming and my 2012 late MBP Retina is old. I did not expect it to run the game at good fps rate. 20-30+ fps at 1920*1200 is acceptable for me. However, even such a low expectation has been proved to be too naive today. My fps rate is floating around 12 regardless how much I have adjusted the resolution and other graphic settings. Unfortunately, I have to abandon it and being stuck in this situation since I have no PC or PS license for HW (have no intention to pay more money into this ridiculous license system either) and cannot switch back to my old crap bootcamp Windows to play the game.

I will not ask for a refund or even a riot. I ask only for granting us Mac users the right to switch our license back to PC or PS platform so that at least we could PLAY the game. Finally, I would like to suggest to SE that if you cannot deliver the product properly, just never release it.

I apologise for the ranting. But it represents just a fraction of the frustrations we Mac users share at the moment. Thanks for your understanding and replies.

They are not going to allow you to transfer your Mac Heavensward license to PC or PS. It's specifically for that platform.

Your 2012 MBP wouldn't perform well even if it ran Windows.

Intel HD4000 integrated graphics just don't cut it for this game. It's not SE's fault.

2012 Retina MBP has a discrete GPU. It comes with a GT650M. The Mac client isn't native. That's the problem. Everybody is having quality issues.

Macs have had Bootcamp forever, I don't really know why Squenix bothered with a native Mac client.

I actually wonder how many Mac WoW players use their native Mac client instead of the Windows client.

My MBP has GT650M, it runs ok under Windows OS.
