Question Regarding Blizzard IV

The new iterations of Blizzard and Fire are interesting but not entirely clear. I understand that you need to cast Enochian in order to use either tier IV spell but does Blizzard IV refresh Enochian?

Is the idea that you can weave in Blizzard IV during Umbral Ice phases to constantly maintain Enochian or am I misunderstanding the purpose for Blizzard IV?

Only 52 at the moment but I look forward to exploring the new abilities at length and hope to get a jump on understanding them a little better.

Okay so here's how it works:

You can only cast B4 in Enochian + being in Umbral Ice phase. It refreshes Enochian by last initial duration - 5s. You have to be in Enochian at the time of cast, not the start of cast, or it will cancel out. You are supposed to do 2 B4s per every Enochian use.

Yeah if you manage it perfectly you'll have 30+25+20+15+10+5= 105 seconds of Enochain more than triple its original duration!

I don't have a black mage high enough yet, but would throwing in Swiftcast help any?

You can't do that, it's always 30 + 25 + 20, with Enochian coming back after your final Fire 4 of your 3rd rotation (so it doesn't affect your F4 usage by letting it drop).

Correction: you can do that, but you shouldn't.

Also a little tip learned the hard way - if you Enochian comes off cooldown and you use it whilst an old Enochian timer is still active you will refresh it for the reduced Blizz4 time, not cast it anew. Make sure the current stack wears off before re-casting.

IMO it makes no sense to use Bliz IV if the next Enochian will be 15 sec. Just let it run off or your rotations will be to short to be useful.
