Another thing is, we'd be WAY more likely to even enter the low level roulette if we could go together. As opposed to giving it a pass for that night.

Oh man, YES. So often, I save roulette for last because it really only benefits me if I play with my 50. My low levels that i'm trying to build up? I'd rather just farm leves with my group. More EXP, more worthwhile, etc etc.
Which means, low-level roulette are less fun.

Ya opening up to simply 1 or 2 additional instead of the full premade option of High lv/Expert. Honestly when they introduced the queueing with friends option, I was baffled when they let it be a full pre-made. I'd prefer it just let you que with one friend, and have it available for all roulette options.
I imagine it has something to do with veteran players grouping to get the incentive. The object is to get older players in there helping new ones along.
The fix you're requesting hamstrings that.
You could, however, queue for a level appropriate dungeon with your friends specifically, if you really wanted to be helpful and enjoy playing together.
Just a thought.![]()

It's tough to que for a dungeon with your max toon when you lose almost all of your abilities, and waiting for twenty minutes.I imagine it has something to do with veteran players grouping to get the incentive. The object is to get older players in there helping new ones along.

But yeah... you've got a point T^T
**To clarify, I was referring to roulette, darn typo brain.
Helping newer players along is ofc why the roulette is there in the end. There is lots of mandatory story content on that roulette that would be hard to find people for without the roulette.I imagine it has something to do with veteran players grouping to get the incentive. However, there is mandatory story content in the high level roulette as well, and we can que them as a group. So people not getting clears on old content surely cant be the justification from SE.

I've always wondered if roulette players are there fill up also non-roulette queues.
What I mean is, do player that queue to the roulette only get queued with players that also queued to the roulette?
Or could it be that if 2 dps queue to an specific dungeon, they could get a tank and/or healer from the roulette queue?
If it's the later, it makes sense to me that those that queue for roulette gets that daily exp bonus. And that parties ain't allowed, since it would greatly reduce the flexibility to fit roles in different groups.

I played FFXI with my wife and we were able to do everything together besides Maat fight.
In FFXIV we are constantly forced to separate. There's just too many forced instances and forced rules on roulette. I don't see why they can't just allow at least one person to help you coop and increase the difficulty by doing so.
