This is actually a good thing. Its shares a recast with bloodletter but it is also affected by the reset from the dots. So in an AoE situation you apply your dots and spam wide volley as usual, but instead of rain of death becoming free from wide volley, its a free instant OGC skill when your DOT's proc it. Which from my eyeballing is way more often than it was before.

In some situations, with internal release up and 3-4 dots on mobs, I find myself having unlimited rain of death procs to cast.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong but isn't this better?

Also, in regards to the new song. A smart bard would pop the song during a phase where movement isn't needed, hit Buffs > Barrage > Empy Arrow for 3k+ dmg > Sidewinder for another huge burst hit, then turn the song off until the cooldowns become available again for huge burst.

Instead of looking at this new song as the "new" way to play bard, look at is as another layer, another tool which we may use if the situation calls for it.

I thought wanderer's was something you would put up just long enough to hit Iron Jaws/Sidewinder/Empyreal before dropping it, maybe holding longer if you have buffs up.

It's been a fairly substantial increase in dps from all of the bards I've seen using it. Even in some cases negating the loss of dps from the songs. It's obviously a situational stance but learning to use it effectively will add a whole new level to the bard. I could understand why some people wouldn't like it but to be honest I constantly see bards nerfing their own dps before this by not locking on to their target and running around for no reason causing a lapse in auto attacks. All things considered it really ups the viability of bards in a raid situation with an increase in dps potential which isn't really a bad thing. But as if said I can understand why certain people wouldn't like it and in the end I think it will definitely draw a more prominent line between the exceptional bards and the mediocre bards.

I think we need to see what the higher level dungeons will look like, as it seems that SE really made some...uhm...interesting choices with the changes to some of the classes. I don't play BRD, but you guys can attest to those changes. But looking at other jobs...

Appeal to NIN is lack of positional skills to compensate for all the ninjutsu they are using. So what do they get? Positional skills, which was a big reason why people switched to it in the first place.

DRG was the king of positionals and penalties. Last big update to DRG removed those penalties (or at least lessened them). So what do we get? A random 50/50 proc on our 4th-combo finisher...which, guess what...demands positionals. And a pretty stiff one at that should you miss it (IIRC it drops from a 260 potency to like, 100 or something low).

I would care less about WM if it was more like other stances so it could be toggled on and off as required, I also feel Iron Jaws shouldn't require WM. Also im just lost for words on the level 58 ability.

Turn off Wanderer's Minuet. It and Gauss Barrel aren't something meant to be on 100% to ~completely change how the class plays~. From everything I've seen so far, all WM/GB do is provide a little extra burst at the beginning of a fight, and ONLY at 60 with all the new abilities WHILE being completely buffed with B4B, Hawk's Eye, Raging Strikes. Not really worth it.

Well great then, we get 5 new abilities, all of them excluding the lvl 60 one can't use (which might be bugged) unless it's the beginning of the fight after that it's a dps loss, what's the point? How is this fun?
