    The Chrysalis Help

Does any of you have any tips for The Chrysalis? Had a group today where people struggled with the tactics, I used stoneskin/regen on the tank for the sparks/double/triple, aoe heals on Quake 3. I struggled with absorbing orbs, and using the right cooldowns on phase 2 with Aetherial Tear, messed up myself by not soaking meteors, used Medica II alongside DS/Medica to top people off. People weren't stacking for heals, standing in End of Days, not dps'ing mobs so was dodging them... and not soaking meteors. But... I fluffed up a few times myself, and want to make sure I'm not being a complete derp >.>

Any Do's and Don'ts would greatly be appreciated.

Do tank swap once spark casts for triple ( or the natural tank swap when unprepared non vengeance/sentinel/DRK equivalent skill using tank dies from follow up hit)

Do get all the spheres alternating color

Tanks tank the Sparks at the edge of the arena facing away from the middle

Before you are sucked in aka red tentacle I know where this is going once he gets bellow 15%

Do use Shoud of saints, sprint, precision of mind, and oh the skill name is eluding me but increases your healing by 25%

Everyone should use their DPS cool downs

Tanks should use sprint and their big defense

    Melee LB3 the tear

I've only done it once with a random duty finder group who were excellent and I can tell you what I learned.

The MT should be spam healed by both healers, if he dies the fight tends to end up on the back foot for a bit.

In meteor phase only tanks soaked meteors. DPS and both healers attacked the rift and we were out of there really fast.

Make sure when the rift opens as many people as possible run away long enough to let the bleed effect expire.

Usually if you request this before the fight starts it will be easier. I think the main problem experienced players don't explain mechanics and those new people who have watched a video to see the mechanics get confused because someone people vary in their approach to meteor. Some people have tank/healers soak, some request everyone soaks and LB3. You need to ask or request a plan of action before the fight starts.

As a healer, buff and prepare to cure bomb the tank when you see triple. For orbs just stand in the middle and play goalie; get the ones other people miss and toss out some cures/buffs. After all the orbs he's gonna hit you with an AoE, so heal/buff your party and prepare for another heal. For meteor phase focus on healing tanks and eat any meteors that come close to you, but don't run across the zone to grab one.

Yeah I seemed to manage the tank swap ok, as grabbing some spheres, but not all, other people weren't picking them up which was driving me nuts >.< I worried about the timing of using SoS, PoM, and Divine Shroud, think that's what I need to work on, as you get sucked in :/

I think it's the meteor phase that we all struggled with, because the BLM who was giving advice said we all had to soak them up, he was throwing a right fit after the third wipe. Kind of understandable, but he was a right ****, which I think made people feel even more pressured and on edge :/ I will remember to do this at the start of the fight next time.

In addition to what was mentioned, don't forget Eye For An Eye and Virus if the other healer or a summoner isn't casting them. Particularly helpful after triple.

Today the best strat is: IGNORE METEORS COMPLETELY

If everyone stack on tear and use melee LB3, healers can outheal meteors easily and do it fast enough so you don't die.

Thing I needed to figure out as a healer is that nothing happens immediately after the cast for double or triple finishes. What happens is the next time he casts Spark, it will hit multiple times. When you see double or triple, you can throw mitigation, but wait until spark is coming and start pre-casting so that your heal goes off right after the first hit (and keep spamming as long as needed). Tank will die if healers aren't actively healing spark after a double or triple.

Most ppl dunno to this day that any timed buff or debuff u have on u before u get sucked into the void will have its duration increased to minutes.
So like a 20 sec regen = 3 mins regen etc
So if u bleed u'll bleed longer in the " distorted time void".

Learn how to precast heals during triple instead of waiting after each hit.
