thats pretty much your fault for not doing the homework my friend. No help you will get posting about it in the forums. The fact that you have both a pc and a mac means you have the option to still play with the pc if you want.. if you choose not to turn the pc on.. thats also your fault.

Mac vs PC? Okay I'll play too LOL

I never bought a Mac new. First one I got was a hand-me-down from my brother -- after he smashed it with his fist, poured beer all over it and drop-kicked it into a wall. When I got his MacBook, it was in fairly rough shape but still in one solid piece. After about a year of it just sitting in my closet, I decided to see what could be done. The dent above the HDD was the clue what to do. So, long story short, bought a new HDD and found the OSX install disc ... and has been working great since. Sry bro - is mine now :P

If he had done that to a PC laptop, it would've been dusted beyond recognition.

TL;DR - a story of metal vs plastic. Metal wins!

In bootcamp, with modified or crappy performance sure.

Seems a lot more than 5.

SE is responsible for this, this was a selling point for Heavensward.
If you want to play Lego's then yes Steam is an option lol...

Listen i get your frustration, it is legitimate. But really in the end every major game company could just pull any support for Mac at all. And no one would care.
You are lucky they even coded this thing to run for OSX

I'm not sure what you are getting at. Bootcamp does not emulate anything. It runs Windows natively on the hardware.

On Mac hardware, which is subpar and usually not upgradeable.

My point is if you are running windows, why don't you just buy a PC?

The fact that Apple's solution to its terrible integration into the gaming community was to allow users to run Windows, is all that needs to be said.

Of course MAC has the hardware to run the games. Pretty much any company nowadays can strap a good CPU/GPU combo and call it a day.

People say Macs are inferior to gaming for two reasons:

    1) Said gaming-capable hardware is completely overpriced. You are essentially paying extra to do what everyone else does normally. If you are on a budget, any regular PC machine will outperform a price-equivalent Mac. Heck, some Laptops offer similar or more power than desktop Macs in a price-by-price comparison, without counting all the extra goodness that being mobile offers.

    2) It is very well known that most companies don't bother porting or properly maintaining games on Mac. Going to Mac expecting all the companies to support you akin to going to Google+ and expecting everyone to swap from Facebook so you can still talk to your friends. Heck, that is a pretty good comparison: Google+ was probably much better than FB, but nobody was there, so nobody wanted to go there. Mac is the same issue (Except for the being better part), so gamers stay clear of Macs.

This is why Mac is inferior for gaming.

That's not much of a point then. I bought a mac to run mac osx, obviously. I just happen to dual boot into Windows as well. People have been doing this kind of thing forever.

And no one is having problems with Windows booted game. The OP obviously doesn't understand licensing, which is not SE's fault. And people who are having issues running the game on Mac / poor performance and such, is p much to be expected.

Why the OP even wants to play the game on his mac instead of booting into windows is pretty silly tbh. So tough to even think he seriously bought the mac version if he knew he had the option to dual boot.

My machine has an Intel i7 and a GTX780M with 4 Gb of ram. I've also got 8 GB of RAM. Care to explain how that's subpar?
