FFXIV Boot Error on Mac

Hi there, Looking to possibly get some insight / help with this error. Just downloaded FFXIV for the mac, and have encountered a boot error just after the Updater finishes downloading ffxivboot - 2015.06.12.0000.0001 Thoughts?

Is that El Capitan I spy in the background? Maybe there's an issue since OSX 10.11 is still in beta?

looks like a pc directory path and an .exe app ref. are you running the windows installer using some sort of emulator?

I just purchased the Mac version this morning and I'm getting the exact same error.

Apparently THAT is the Mac client we got. A poorly-implemented emulator wrapped around the Windows executable.

Yeah. I submitted a ticket with my error information. If it's not fixed by the end of the day I'm getting a refund. At least two people at Square Enix should be fired -- 1. the person who made the decision for the Mac client to be an emulated Windows client in a wine wrapper, and 2. the personal who thought that this version of the client was ready to put on the market and take people's money for. What a GD joke. Why not just let us purchase a desktop version and that should include Windows AND Macintosh if you so choose. You know... like EVERY OTHER game company does with their games that are multi-platform (i.e. Blizzard, etc).

eek...ive been playing in bootcamp today because amazon cant figure out the installer url...and possibly the right reg codes. :P

Correct! I have fixed this issue by copying the content from my Windows Partition and putting it into the application in the correct paths which has resolved that issue and got the launcher running. it seems as if someone may have forgotten to insert some files into the user/documents/ my games/ FFXIV folder.

though now I'm able to get the launcher up and running and able to launch the game though when it does its launches and disappears from the screen almost like its minimized but i can't bring it back up *sigh* though its still progress and i'll take it as a win. Though I'm putting a lot of effort into getting this thing running lol.

:O Seriously? Ohhh the irony. I thought messing "in" Windows was history when I got a Mac.
I've spent hours figuring out how to launch the game. It just didn't. Apparently I had to allow unidentified publishers in my security settings. /sigh I don't have the patience for all that experimenting and tweaking anymore. Was fun 15 years ago, but now I just want it to work with 1 single click. ^_^

Back to PS4 for me! That works with a single bleep!

Did you ever figure out why the game was only viewable in Mission Control view? I'm having the same problem and its frustrating when you can see the client running, but can't maximize it to play...
