I'm sorry, what? My late 2013 iMac has a NVIDIAGeForceGTX780M 4GB GDDR5 for a graphics card, and Apple is about to switch to Metal on OSX. The issue has nothing to do with Apple, it has to do with using Transgaming to build the client as opposed to building a native client.
Like, really bad.
As I said before, on Windows (Bootcamped) it runs with around 60 FPS (unless there's a huge cluster of players around, e.g. Hunts)
In the exact same position, just 30 seconds later (tested across multiple zones) the frame rate has more than halfed (below 30, usually around 22-25)
It's stuttering and lagging like mad. This is a very, very poor conversion. Not blaming Square here, but rather transgaming or whoever made the wrapper.
This is like running it on Parallels. It's not playable on OS X. Even if you are way above minimum specs.
I have the same issue too. I'm running a 5k iMac. So, I certainly have the power to run this game too. Guess I'll just have to bootcamp it still. SE, if you are planning to pull in new people with this, fix it quick before bad word-of-mouth spreads.Like, really bad.

Thanks for posting this all of you. I've been bootcamping from a late 2013 Retina MacBook Pro and thanks to your input, will continue to do so until I hear that it's actually playable on OS X ><
お楽しみにしてください。
I was afraid of this, using a wrapper is a terrible thing to do, they never work right.
I feel like they should have had a beta test for Mac users...

I look forward to seeing the continual improvements to the Mac client, which my $59 hopefully pays for! 2013 Macbook Pro GT650M, 8GB, Core i7 2.4 GHZ - 21 fps.
It's as if we're on the eve of the release of 1.0. We'd be screaming, "it's not ready!"
I did not expect the Mac version would be excellent in any sense and I only expect it to be run at 20-30fps. But even this kind of low expectation seems to be too naive right now. IT IS ABSOLUTELY UNPLAYABLE AT ALL! Of course, we Mac users hate bootcamp crap Windows OS, but now I just wish I would never have made the Mac version purchase and stick to my Windows license.
