If you are able to keep aggro, then more power to you applying Scourge before your Enmity rotation. I'm not sufficiently geared for endgame yet and have had some issues where OT WARs can pull off of me, so I'm playing it safe for now. I may change this in the future.Is there a reason why we shouldn't apply scourge first before any combos? Consistency? I've been opening with unmend > plunge > scourge > DA power combo > keep up delirium and scourge and as much DA soul eater in between for tanking and haven't had any trouble all the way to aery so far, aggro wise.
that's not what the patch notes said btw, it said Determination has reduced affect on auto-attacks. it didnt say it had no affect.
I should have clarified that I was going by how it functions on PLD and WAR, and assumed it'd be similar. I never actually tested fracture for DRK myself.
And even if it WAS a minor DPS increase, I feel like it just costs too much TP anyway.
How many enemies should be to use the Salted Earth? 1 is enough or you need more? Has anyone thought about the optimal use of this ability?

The more I tank on my DRK the more I see just how much damage we are taking in comparison to other tanks. I ran Aurum Vale this morning and every single pull I was having to use a couple of my defensive cooldowns just to "feel" like I wasn't getting destroyed. I enjoy the Drk's play style but tanking wise, it feels like we are waaaaaaay behind the other two tanks in terms of survivability and "feeling tanky" I'm having to stare at my HP bar more then my MP bar which it should be the opposite. For my level(54) I have the highest ilvl gear I can currently obtain(minus the weapon, weapon is ilvl115). I'm going to give my other tanks another run tonight after work just to see again the differences. I'm trying to really like the DRK and I know its still new some changes are bound to happen but man do I feel squishy as all hell. Now, it may change when I get a little higher to get Abysal drain's aoe life tap but only time will tell..

The DRK side of Eorzea is a pathway to many abilities some consider to be unnatural.
Seriously though I am loving DRK. I will be getting the AF3 and Relic for it no matter how long it takes.
I know this. I meant another - Salted Earth has a cast time (1,5-2 second to aim and use it). Rationally use it on one enemy, or better to spend those 2 seconds on other abilities (such as starting a new combo)?

I think 1 tick occurs every 2.5 seconds, 21/2,5=8,4 ticks, 8*75=600, or no?
