It's weird, because Dark Passenger feels so... Blegh, for the mana cost, and the Blind mechanic doesn't feel like it does much. If you feel it's noticeable, though, then maybe I need to test more.

It does a great amount of damage for what it's worth, but I agree that it costs WAY too much. DA+DP = Half MP gone. Usually best to do it when you have multiple mobs and Blood Price is up though so you can at least get that MP back. Outside of that, I personally just stick to the other AoE that we get(name escapes me).

I think that's actually the only time it should be used, in an AOE situation where you can get the mana back via blood price.

Which cross-class abilities does DRK need?

I'm still undecided, but Provoke is an absolute must. I'd take Bloodbath and Convalescence as well. Foresight, Awareness are also solid picks.

Yeah, the math is there as far as the damage goes. AoE spamming as a DRK is only really viable when you have gratuitous amounts of MP incoming that you would not be able to spend normally with your rotations. The DA + DP cost (38% of your MP) seems justified to me (at level 60). When you reach this level you have many forms of MP replenishment, so you won't be empty very long. In additino to this, the Blind it inflicts is amazing and, in my opinion, is one of the best defensive cooldowns for large packs when paired with a DA + Dark Dance.

Mercy Stroke registers as a physical attack, so using it whilst under Blood Weapon returns MP same was every other physical WS/CD. Makes it worth cross classing over awareness IMO

For that one tick of extra MP(outside of Grit)? I don't know about that. Never been "hurting" for MP when I'm OT or Soloing. Would rather keep Awareness to keep the crits off.

Basically I'm just trying to decide Awareness over Fracture. Always nice to have another DoT, but the opportunity cost may be too high. Whereas Awareness seems the natural choice, since protecting yourself from crits, especially when we don't have a shield nor the high HP of a WAR.

Speaking of Provoke... was it changed? Or does it operate differently when used as a cross-class skill?

Because when I used it as a PLD, it always brought me to the top of the aggro list. But now I use it on my DRK and it doesn't seem to do much of anything. It definitely doesn't bring me to the top of the aggro list, though it might give a small spike of threat or something.

Any else experiencing this? Could it be bugged just for DRKs using it?
