Bard - they broke my job

this goes out to all the ppl who say this l2p crap just do the maths, the autoattack does 23% of the bards dmg, WM gives us a 20% buff for not beeing able to autpoattack so we debuff our characters if we turn it on and for what? for 2 skills that wont put out much since to casttimes! l2p my *** just thinking for a second will help

Hum...not sure where to post this without making a whole new thread. While I agree WM has issues (and I'm trying my best to find good uses for it) what secoundary stats should bard now actually focus on? With the changes to SS, would SS and Crit actually be the go to stats that Bards want to grab? Or is Det/Crit still the better route?

You cast no slower with WM on than with it off. The only time you slow down is if you're interrupted. You can even move between casts and lose no cast time.


I'd love to be sympathetic and complain along with people, but it seems more and more like the majority of complainers are just whining for the fuck of it.

This is worse than the summoner crying in 2.0

@edellis hmm so where does the dmg drop come from in movement fights (lets say ravana ) when u have WM on. u may plz explain that to me but anyways im not rly pissed about dps anyways. ofc i want more but everyone always wants more dps in the end. ^^ here is the thing now i came back from wow to final fantasy because wow did kinda the same thing hunter became more and more static and to be honest that just sucks. i will play without WM cause i like the playstyle it always had and if my dps i to low well then i will as i always did just go over the top and fix it myself by playing better.

Edit: i just dont like ppl who say l2p to others who actually try to analyse problems with the class

Let's just be honest about WM.. The stance does nothing it was designed to do. Ravana and any other fight that requires even a little movement shows that to be a fact. SE greatly under estimated AAs % to Bard's DPS and even nerfed barrage in the process.. They also underestimated the ability to weave 2 oGCDs in 1 gcd. They even locked some really good tools behind WM. How can i even stance dance with it on a 3s cast timer???ATM WM has destroyed Bard's ability to be even close to the other DPS since most jobs got even more damage and utility. It's not about being the best DPS... The whole issue is we give up a ton for WM and actually lose damage even when played properly.

empy alone w/o barrage does 70% of the damage AAs do right now, nevermind the rest of your skills or the fact that they all scale better with secondaries + wd + crits due to damage bonus or the 20% damage buff to everything else you're doing. IJ + empy make up the pot you lose on their own

auto attack potency changes from weapon to weapon depending on how fast it is. well you can say it is (or rather was on the old weapons, have to do math foe new ones first) roughtly 75 to 100 + crits plus secondarys still makes it more worth than EA wich u cast every 17 maybe 16,5 seconds if u have good speed values with a potency of 240. cause yes cd starts after u shoot!. sry m8 auto atk does more dmg without barrage. i give u barrage is very strong with the skill thats true and if it had a lesser cd i would actually agree with you. that does not solve my playstyle problem but hey be a BLM if u like to be one ^^. playing without WM is the better choice if u even have a chance to loose atks not even stating the fact that u will loose bloodladder progs when playing with WM.

It is better with barrage, I literally said its a bit behind autos without it though.
You are acting like WM's DMG boost is the only thing going for it while leaving out a million other factors, you can't just say "oh autos do 3% more damage than what wm addz just do maths xd"

I also still do more dps even in ravana ex right now with full WM time, it's clearly not a "better choice" if you do less dps with the song off. This is something called "playing your job to it's full potential"
