Bard - they broke my job

I just recently got WM yesterday went into Dusk Vigil and I am so confused it doesnt feel like bard was from 1-51.. I'll have to get used to it but it feels like the class did a 180 on me. Also my first dungeon run with WM went really bad due to the cast bars and me constantly thinking my abilities were all instant. I lost a lot of dps moving and cancelling animations.

I've been torn between focusing on equipping Bard or Summoner for my DPS class this expansion.
I guess I'll wait and see if the Straight Shot proc fix makes Bard feel smoother to play.

I really do wish they would do something to differentiate BRD and MCH gameplay but it seems unlikely since SE has never commented on it.

To make it fit with the theme of a minuet, any song played while the Wanderer's Minuet is active should have its MP cost reduced to slow down MP consumption.

It could be augmenting songs at the cost of TP, with BRD getting more skills oriented to TP management, or use it to turn it into a single target buff for a set duration with a flat mana cost. Anything really to make it not Gauss Barrel. Minuet doesn't really do much to add anything to BRD's gameplay from 2.0 other than arbitiarly locking Empryeal arrow and Ironjaws behind it.

Git gud lol. I love this stuff (careful irony, i understand the 180 and agree 1000% bcuz no brd signed for that while some adopted). Even today i had a person with like 5 60 classes ask how to play brd which is he leveling now ( 50 atm). Sure didnt appreciate wut i told him 52 or 60+ will be. I kinda tried to display it badly admitedly, yet truthful.

After an excruciating journey, I got BRD to 60. I hate WM even more than I dislike GB and I'll probably never touch either class again unless they make some fundamental changes, which is a shame, because I had really grown to enjoy BRD toward the end of ARR, and I had been looking forward to MCH since they first teased the idea of a gun job.

I'm right alongside you. As it is, I've yet to finish 3.0 because I don't have a class I enjoy playing anymore. I had hoped to see some good news with the prelim-patch notes, but no, of course not, SE is determined to force all bards to like WM.

Maybe I'll unsub and wait till they release musketeer or or some other class I might enjoy as I enjoyed 2.0 Bard.

If anything, you can just keep playing without using WM provided that you're still good at the job. My MCH easily do 700~ sustained without any cooldown periods (or turret for that matter). It's not optimal, but it doesn't fall into the realm of slowing down your party. BRDs/MCHs that don't use WM/GB that slow down teh party signifcantly wouldn't have done any better if they had use it (and probably less)

Yeah, I've been doing EX roulettes and the like with WM off and pulling a pretty consistent 650 - 700DPS, but I'm worried that's not going to be enough for EX primals or 8-man raids going forwards.

Would have been nice if barrage either boosts cast speed significantly or remove the cast times altogether for it's duration.

If you dont like it please spare other players from it or get your own group. I saw a smn who did nothing, so i asked him. he said im smn, im controlling my pet, while using his ifrit to dodge aoes... wtf!
