    The one concern I have with Machinist

    Hello everyone, I hope you have been having fun with expansion because I know I have.

    Anyway, I unlocked Machinist, looked at the skills, practiced them and I can see where they want us to go with it but there is one single thing I noticed that struck my nerves and that is: self healing.

    When I saw the complete move list for all classes/jobs, it left me a little shocked, this job has no way to heal itself outside of potions while any and all other combat classes/jobs have a way to heal themselves even if its not so great, it still helps during solo content when you get ambushed (note that all basic mobs are now very strong) or for when a fight is dragging out for too long and you are likely to get killed before you kill the enemy.

    I know a DPS should not have anything to do with healing but all other jobs have a way to heal themselves (outside of potions) even if it is limited, they still have that emergency move for when fights are getting too long or enemies are likely to kill you before you kill them at matched level.

    I was thinking of something along the lines of getting Second Wind from cross class like Bards do, or something a little bit more inventive, a special trait that makes potency and cooldown of potions/ethers/elixirs change to something more useful. Or maybe that move that Cid used when he was a guest fighter on instances, Aqua de Vita I think it was called.

    I don't know, I just think it prudent for any and all combat class/jobs to have a way to heal themselves (even if its a little bit) outside of potions. What do you all think? Is it alright for this job to have no self healing moves (again, outside of potions) while all others do, or does the damage we do outline any threat of death before enemy death? Tell me what you think and discuss.

    It does suck not having Second Wind, but I suppose in solo situations we're expected to run away if our HP gets too low. We've got a great cc: ability with Blank Shot (knockback with a 30s cooldown which isn't that bad) which can be followed up with your choice of either a bind or heavy instant (with a shorter, 20s cooldown if I recall) which is a nice set of options since you can use the heavy one if you know some idiot's going to break the bind right after you apply it whereas no one can remove your heavy debuff. (Also works for when a mob escapes that novice Dark Knight and heads for the Asteologian in your party- blast it back and bind/heavy it, difference being that you don't sprint away after. I suppose all something like Second Wind does is buy you a little extra time when it comes to soloing, but it's not like that will make the difference between being able to solo a single-target FATE if it's damage is too high and no ones healing you.

    So I guess for when a machinist is up against high difficulty enemies in open world without a party, their best heal ability is going to be Choco Cure.

    Treat it like it's base class is Archer and it requires Alchemist, carry lots of potions .

    They have plenty of keep-away, snares and stuns to keep themselves able while soloing.

    2nd wind is a great raiding tool for dps too, I won't even go into examples here but there are plethora of mechanics/deaths that can be ignored or avoided by this skill which EVERY physical dps had access to so far.

    I'm not sure why SE screwed over the two support classes so much this expansion.
