Thank you SE, for letting us play peacefully and enjoy this amazing expansion. I don't know how things will be tomorrow at official launch, hopefully it stays quiet for a lot longer, but for now, I am enjoying the game like never before.

No blind friend requests, no /tell spam, aetherytes and markets are quiet...

Whatever you did, keep on. RMTs are a plague hard to fight, but this is the way to go it seems.

I'll take the opportunity to congratulate you on Heavensward. Many friends are enjoying it as am I and I invite you guys to join tomorrow if you haven't gotten the expansion yet. It is truly worth it. Of course there are problems like server congestion, lobby errors, new jobs and skills that some love but others hate, but overall it's a huge success. The areas are beautiful, the music stunning, the story will make your heart jump many times and grab that tissue, and... no... RMTs...

Well a few of them slipped through the cracks and I had to put busy up again.

I kept thinking about it and all I want SE to do is basically this.
Let me keep my /busy on even if I log out of the game and come back, I can shut it off if I want to but this would help big time.

Either that or let me shut off friends invites.

Inside of heavensward it's great, outside of heavensward the friend request have stopped but the tells haven't

You know the only reason it's quiet is because all the servers are full, right? So they can't make new accounts to spam with.

Hopefully they get errors too so they can't get in at all. (those spammers)

..and yea it isn't as bad as before the game expanded. (I used to hear the tell thing go off every 5-10 mins sometimes)[...and I also had 9 friend reqs from spammers before the patch]

Though my blacklist still has all those people in it. Not sure how much, but it's a lot.

I've gotten zero friend requests so far and only a smattering of tells (1 or 2 per day at most).

It's a vast improvement from before.

This will not last long. Those armies of black mages will soon arrive in Heavensward cities....sadly. I am so very glad SE locked 3.0 behind the 2.0 MSQ, now those RMT have to put at least 60 hours for each characters they have before they can be in Heavenward. Good job indeed!!

Yeah, it does seem to have gone down. I get a few /tell only. Friend request was fairly rare before, so that's not saying much. Hope it continues.

One thing SE really should do though:
Make a command right next to "Add To Blacklist" - in that menu. Call it "Report Spam" or "Temp Blacklist" or whatever. Clicking this - 1 click only, nothing else required of user - will add them to my blacklist *with an expiration time*. If this function also reports the associated text to SE, then all the better. Currently blacklist is limited to 200. I filled that up months ago and I will not spend my game time removing the old ones. I understand why there's a limited number, but they need to make it where some (not all) blacklist entries can expire on their own.

It's not totally rmt free...

It is in Excalibur. I am having the same experience as the OP and we are both on Excalibur. I haven't received a RMT /tell for quite a number of days now...really nice and quiet.
