There are config files in your Documents or My Documents folder depending on Windows OS, under MY Games\FINAL FANTASY XIV - A Realm Reborn The FFXIV.cfg file may be the issue. I know before the hot fixes today, I was unable to get onto a data center without deleting this config file each attempt, so it could be corrupt or something for you. I will warn however if you do this, you will lose sound/video/network/gamepad and some other settings when you delete or remove this file from this location, and you will have to watch the intro movie to ARR as if it was a fresh install/first time playing, no way to skip. BUT you will have to re-enable DX11 before logging in again, since that setting is one of the ones lost, remember to do that. Hope this helps!

Just to confirm, but what errors? 2002 like the first poster?

2002 is a server congestion error, it's not actually linked to either DX9 or DX11, but your computer trying to connect to the data centres and them being overloaded so you get the 2002 error.

I can appreciate that if it only seems to happen while using DX9 and not when you use DX11 or vice versa so it would certainly look like the cause, but if it's a 2002 error then that's just coincidence and the time you tried it the server wasn't congested completely so you were able to connect. If your computer was having issues related to DX9 or DX11 you'd get different errors/crashes, but 2002 is server congestion, not a client error.
