Registering a Digital CE code to an account that is already upgraded to Heavensward.

Hello, I have posted this question on the SE support site (hopefully under the right section, if that matters at all) but I was told response might take days so I'd like to get confirmation of whether this is possible.

Basically, I registered my Heavensward digital regular (non collectors) edition to my account today, it all worked fine. However, just a few hours later my friend told me he has a spare key for a Heavensward digital CE that he doesn't need, overjoyed I tried to find a way to activate it but it seems the only way to upgrade to Heavensward digital CE if you already registered Heavensward is by purchasing it yourself.

My question is: is it possible to upgrade my account to Heavensward CE with this code with the help of SE support, or not possible? This must have happened to someone else as I assume it's the same with regular and CE editions of the base game. I also tried registering the code in the only place I could find, the item code registration but it did not accept it (the code is definitely valid, my friend received it from a reputable website and has not used it). I have 2 Regular editions and can't put in the other registration code too. (PC went in fine, but trying to find a way to register PS3 Registration code)

Just to clarify, by regular editions do you mean regular Heavensward editions or regular as in FFXIV without Heavensward? My problem comes from trying to add a digital Collectors Edition of Heavensward via a code onto an account that already has the Heavensward regular edition registered to it (so essentially, upgrading from Heavensward to Heavensward CE), not simply adding any Heavensward version to the base game. I'm sorry if the wording is confusing but there's so many different editions!

*Update* Spoke to an advisor via chat. Unfortunately it seems impossible to do (a bit strange considering they'll help you if you add a code to the wrong service account, for example), in case anyone was wondering.
