First I have noticed some weird shadow blinking/flickering at random locations (like in gold saucer) then I proceeded to cut scenes in ishgard and I got the same thing... Now I have visited Sea of Clouds and textures on the islands in various places are blinking... it is really disturbing.
PC that I am running this on is: Intel Core i5-2300 with 8 gb of ddr3 ram working at 1600 mhz and Palit GTS 450 1gb GDDR5, running on the same settings I was using directx9 meaning High Laptop WITH the Directx 11 settings to low (meaning Screen space ambient occlusion is set to Light, Parallax Occlusion is set to Normal and Tessellation is set to Normal.
Can someone from SE take a look at this please?
PS: To prevent post of the type "GTS 450 is dated blah blah" "you should consider upgrade blah blah" "ahuahahahhaha n00b you can't run this game on this $*#&#*" Please hold with responses like this, This is the hardware I have, if I could afford GPU upgrade then I would upgrade. ALSO it's worth mentioning that issues that I speak above DOES NOT APPEARED BEFORE IN THE GAME on DirectX 9 client before heavensward came. I have no idea if they appear now on DirectX9 client. Also, one more thing, to prevent posts with "go back to directx 9 - problem solved" The thing is, I don't want to... First of all DirectX 9 client is 32 bit, I can already notice that the game works faster on my hardware utilizing 64 bit and also, since long ago DirectX 9 client crashes my GPU driver from time to time and I need to sometimes even reboot my whole pc to get the game working again. This issue is Final Fantasy XIV exclusive and only happens in this game (doesn't happen in any other). So far, It's been 3 days that I am playing on DirectX 11 and the game did not once crashed my GPU driver while before it would crash at least once up to few times a day.
EDIT 01: Ok I guess I made a bobo, I went into Gold Saucer on DirectX 9 client to the same place I checked the shadows before. The shadows do flicker as well on DirectX 9 but because they are weaker than on DX11 you have to focus on the image to notice it :/ That I had no idea, seems I noticed it on DX11 because the shadows are much more stronger there and much more visible.
As for the sea of clouds, I only checked this during night but I don't see any flashing textures on DX9 client, will have to wait for the day though to confirm it. Might be those flashes are actually DX11 thing. Will edit this post again when I have more info.
EDIT 02: Ok I can confirm, There is no flashing textures in Sea of Clouds on DirectX 9 client, so it's only issue related to DirectX 11 and exist only in DirectX 11 client.
EDIT 03: ok... well... I just checked the entrance cutscene into the sea of clouds, it seems on DirectX9 some textures are spazing out on it as well, a little bit less of them but they are still spazing out :/
