The DPS bandwagon drops off and stays away from DRK / tanking in general?

Yes I will acknowledge those who have a legitimate interest in tanking even though they never did it before. (I fully support and hope you enjoy it but please do take it seriously.)
Yes I will acknowledge those who have mained War / PLD.

No I will not acknowledge those who decided to try playing DRK without ever touching war / PLD and only decided too "Because it looked cool." (Yes I have been given that response when asking "Have you tanked before?"

So again..how much longer till they leave the job? (Yes I know this is kind of a rant but seeing so many people just be bad at DRK and seeing that they haven't even gotten glad / mar past 15...it's just ugh.)

It won't. In about a week they'll go back to their mains sure, but there will be a massive resurgence soon after because people will use it for Hunts and premades with friends.

You think it's bad now? Wait till 3.1 when the relic comes out.

The non-tanking interested people who started during early access will drop off after about a week, but then you have the people coming for official release. So at least another week or two I would imagine.

People are already dropping the DRK cause how much of a pain it is to tank, the dungeon ques are back to instant and the random routtee is back to tank. I'm not surprised.

You are spending most of your time looking at your mana bar instead of worrying about tanking and where you are standing. I'm still going with mine but sometimes when I tank on my warrior or paladin, its a fresh of breath air.

This is why my mana bar is on the ground...so I can look at the ground aoe's while I panic over missing mana.

I think once people realize that Drk's are the hardest tank to play (currently), that they'll be dropping off like flies. Woe betide us should they receive......dps boosts.

Had this conversation yesterday with my FC, i get people want to try the new jobs but im tired of being with terrible DRK because they have no idea how to tank.. But it sounds cool! Ive swapped my main from war to drg and using drk as tank now. I am enjoying it alot and been told "i can tell you have tanked alot".. its easy to see who has nevet tanked more than 30 mins and someone who has tanked up to end game

One more week i expect before the non tanks find it too hard and too much responsibility.

I leveled my first class as a PLD, I tanked in WoW/healed in WoW and I tanked in DAoC. There is a reason why I'm still a tank now, one. I DON'T FALL ALSEEP WHILE PLAYING. two, I can't have a reason to alt-tab afk while waiting for the next pull cause I control the pace of the run and final, three. I DON'T FALL ASLEEP WHILE PLAYING.

Seriously, I can not stress that enough with the whole sleeping part. I don't know why but when I play DPS in this game, I start to fall asleep.

couldn't agree more... i've been playing war since 2.1 and i feared this would happen when drk was first introduced. Tanks have a totally different playstyle than of dps/healer and as a result, many players got excited by the badass look and the dark-ish theme overall. The real deal however is miles away. I've done a few dungeons with drk tanking and i tell you they all failed. Some failed less, some failed more. Of course i can understand that the class is new and even old-school tanks still try to master it but if you already know the tank aspects you can understand much better your aggro combos, aoe skills, positioning, cooldowns, immunities etc. but in the end i too believe that many players will switch to their original jobs.

I see people dropping off after a week or 2. Myself? I love the DRK! My main was a war and would play pally on occasions, it's nice to have another tank class that is quite different from the others. I like the managing Mp, using dark arts at the right times for CD's, flopping around a big ol greatsword, it's just a really fun class to play. That being said, it'll be nice to see all the people going back to play their non stressful dps classes lol.

Give it another week at most. HW officially releases today.. But I've run into 2 DRK that's was actually pretty good and it was a blast tanking with them..
