Since they provide Piety buff like Scholars, my points are all going Piety, just like my Scholar (and sadly consequently, my Summoner). More MP FTW xD
It has yet to bite me in the butt.

Hmm that what i was thinking about:
Nocturnal stance: +5% Heal potency could work with a Piety/Det build for average shields (there is no effect that increase ur power of ur shields like Adlo from SCH thats why im thinking about not to use crit even if crit heal = ur shield)
Diurnal stance: +5% Attackspeed .. maybe a piety/SS build or SS/Det
sry for my bad english^^ german here
My two mains are BLM and AST. However I play more AST because of the intricacies of the class. Like everyone on here suggest MND, MND, and more MND lol. The only time I have ever had any mana issues is when I am having to revive other people or my party in raid or dungeon fell short so bad I had to light speed heals like crazy (mainly due to the the DPS having to be tank because tank can hold agro). MND is better for AST, also remember the ewr+balance/bole (royal roads)=mp regen extreme in case you want to hold on to luminous aether in a tight bind ( I use my ewr on myself, WHM, or DRK).
your armor and accessories will pick up the slack on peity and if your luck is good even spell speed that has help me out of some good binds being at least a sec quicker on my heals
There isn't real stat diversity in this game. Your main stat is always most desired (accuracy used to contend more for healers and PvP/Bleeding progression might tempt you for Vit, but you shouldn't use your free attribute stats for it) Go full mind and GEAR towards the amount of piety you need. End game gear has plenty. :]
If we are talking attribute points, MIND will always triumph PIETY due to MIND severely increasing both your healing and attack magic potencies. If you are having MP issues, PIETY is never the answer, especially when you consider that the natural in-combat MP regen is around 1.99% (basically 2%) of your MAX MP, which translates into an extra cast here and there.
To give perspective, at level 60 and with iLvL 240 (919 PIETY) gear, my max MP Pool is 15,142. Moving my 35 MIND Attributes to PIETY (now at 954), I reach to 15,368 max MP pool which is a small 226 max MP increase. If we look at natural in-combat regen, the difference becomes even more apparent.
919 PIETY -- 15,142 max MP -- 302 natural in-combat MP Regen tick.
954 PIETY -- 15368 max MP -- 307 natural in-combat MP Regen tick.
Note: PIETY only effects percentage based MP restoration spells such as Aetherflow (20%) and Assize (10%). It has no influence whatsoever with Shroud of Saints and Luminferous Aether. Also, as we gain more PIETY in future patches and expansions, the 1.99% natural in-combat MP regen gets closer to 2%.
Disclaimer: This post is not anti-piety on gear, so please do not interpret my post as "avoid PIETY as if it were the plague."

Why is this thread being necrod?
Don't use Ewer on Dark Knights, Darkside makes it 100% useless. Also, you should never have to sacrifice a Balance to enhance an Ewer...
