Having transitioned from a Scholar to Astrologian, I felt right at home after getting Nocturnal Sect. Although lacking in potency in comparison, I basically have in my disposal an Insta Cast + Adlo every global cool down and a Lustrate every 40 seconds. I will rage if SE takes this away from me.

It still uses up the same GCD that Adloq does, you're just getting the (weaker) cast at the start of the cooldown instead of the end. You also get 3 Lustrates every 60 seconds, which is better. You also get the fairy heals/buffs. AST is too weak right now to even consider getting nerfs.

Solo healing it feels a bit redundant, because we've got our version of cure II. And the single target regen, while I feel undertuned, adds a tool we don't have while the shield adds a tool we have a alternative too. Not to say it doesn't have it's place sometimes, but diurnal seems the goto stance.

8 mans are of course different. Group with a whm and obviously you use shields.
