    Macro Pallet & CON

So I was wondering how everyone has their macros setup for CON?

I use both ALT and CTRL for macros, ALT set 5 for 2nd row of action bar CTRL set 5 for 3rd set of action bar. I do it so that I never have to cycle up or down on the action bar cause that is a pain in the ass to do. Slows down my ability to function properly cause a lot of times I'd have to hit enter twice just to be able to press up or down on action bar.

Also for Action Bar 1 I have
    1 Cure
    2 Cure II
    3 Cure III
    4 Curaga
    5 Curaga II
    6 Sacrifice II
    7 Siphon MP
    8 Raise II
    9 Punishing Barbs
    10 Silena

For Action Bar 2 I have
    1 Tranquility
    2 Roaming Soul
    3 Profundity II
    4 Soughspeak
    5 Chainspell
    6 Shell II
    7 Protect II
    8 Shock Spikes II
    9 Stoneskin II
    10 Sleep

    For Action Bar 3
    1 Spirit Dart
    2 Radiance
    3 Aero II
    4 Fire II
    5 Thunder II
    6 Blizzard II

and everything on Action Bar 1 & 2 are set to CTRL and ALT pallets.

I'm wondering what everyone else's setup are, or maybe get some suggestions on mine.

A few notes... I'm still leveling (currently 41), so my bars are probably a lot more mixed up than what others use who are 50 and set in their roles. Also, I mostly play with a friend, so I'm rarely alone and fighting nowadays.

    Action Bar 1:

    1 Spirit Dart
    2 Guard
    3 Scourge II
    4 Banish II
5 Blizzard II (switch out depending on mob weakness)
6 Thunder II (switch out depending on mob weakness)
    7 Sleep
    8 Siphon MP
    9 Cure II
    10 Sacrifice II

    Action Bar 2:

    1 Tranquility
    2 Blood Rite
    3 Profundity II
    4 Spiritbind
5 Dark Seal (Sometimes I will put Soughspeak here if I'm doing NMs or harder leves)
    6 Roaming Soul
7 Shock Spikes (replace with Stygian Spikes depending on what I'm doing)
8 Stoneskin (soon, Stoneskin II, yay!)
    9 Shell
    10 Protect

    Action Bar 3:

    1 Elemental Shroud
2 Quickstride (just got this recently, very fun! lol)
    3 Raise II
4-10 Nothing yet, out of action points

I use macros for healing, buffing, switching classes, and switching gear, generally. And if I'm doing NMs duo with my friend, my action bars change quite a bit. I take out most of the damaging spells and put in DoTs (Bio, Dia, Poison, Ele dots maybe) as well as Slow, Paralyze, etc.

I only have a couple of macros set for spells -- Cure II <p1> and Sacrifice II <p1>

And my basic Conjurer action bars are set up as:

    Bar 1:
    1. Spirit Dart
    2. Elemental Shroud
    3. Nature's Fury
    4. Levinbolt II
    5. Fire II
    6. Burn II
    7. Flare
    8. Blizzard II
    9. Frost II
    10. Sleep

    Bars 2 & 3 -- Healing group:
    11. [often empty but used as needed]
    12. Cure II
    13. Sacrifice II
    14. Curaga II
    21. Second Wind (to heal myself without using MP)
    22. Chainspell
    23. Raise II
    24. Rebirth

    Bars 2 & 3 -- Buffing group:
    17. Protect II
    18. Shell II
    19. Shock Spikes II (or Stygian Spikes II as needed)
    20. Stoneskin II
    27. Exaltation
    28. Tranquility
    29. [often empty -- but sometimes Roaming Soul or Spiritbind go here]
    30. Siphon MP II

The middle block of 15, 16, 25, and 26 get filled as needed with things like Debuffing magic, or Rampart and Chameleon.

Slots 5 through 9 are usually set to Thaumaturge attacks like Bio II, Dia II, Banish II, Scourge II and Poison when doing NMs or Dzemael.

I have been looking for a similar setup for the same reasons of cycling through the action bars.
Could you please post or pm me the basic structure of the macro? I cannot seem to find any info online about it, no matter how hard I hit the search button.

I'm really surprised to see that no one has put dmg mitigating abilities on their bar. Sentinel, Defender, Rampart II, Tempered Will II, and Featherfoot. All of these are great for those "OH SHIT" moments when you get heal aggro. with curaga being about the best way to pull aggro in the game, you need to have something that can make you just a little more survivable. Doing stronghold parties you get alot of aoe dmg things going on, curaga is damn near a must, and if you die so does everyone else typically

    Good point.

Depending on the situation, I have Rampart and Chameleon on my bar as Conjurer.

I never thought about putting Featherfoot there since it only works once -- but I suppose that's better than nothing.

    And since I often play a DD role, Defender never appealed to me... but perhaps this is one I should reconsider for emergencies since I seem to pull hate in Natalan a lot more often than I want to. ><;

I play, for the most part, strictly a healer, I rarely do any DD. although when I do find those few moments to do dmg im usually debuffing. so dont notice the side affects of defender. on healing, however, defender doesnt seem to lessen the heals much. with defender on i think it takes away about 50 hp from my heals. featherfoot, although I havent really tried to test it, will regen mp once you evade an attack. thats the way the ability reads anyways, lol. rampart, tempered will and sentinel, are pretty much my oh shit buttons. doing the NM in U'Ghamaro Mines, those abilities saved my butt since there are like 20 mobs accompanied. when you just do an aoe burn healers pull alot of aggro since most arent "really" trying to keep hate. when you do 1 curagaII everyone instantly turns towards you, so I pop my (literally its labeled) oh shit button (sentinel, tempered will ii, rampart II) and i can survive the onslaught. after I pop that button since alot of the mitigating abilities do not stack persay I wait for for some abilities to drop and I hit featherfoot... its the only way I found that I can survive some of these clusterFu$% moments, lol

    Radamanth,

    Thanks. That's good advice.

I'm seldom the only Conjurer in the party, so I don't have to play as a dedicated healer. But if I do, I should definitely rethink my ability bar.

I also just attached an Evasion +23 Materia to my outfit, so hopefully that helps. ^^
Next Materia is either more Evasion or Defense.

I should probably also get Gladiator up a little more so I can at least get Rampart II and Sentinel. I don't have those yet.

just a thought, but, as a mage the idea is to "not get hit". by no means am I saying your wrong in doing evasion or defense, but I think that would be a waste for a materia slot. I stick to hard numbers mp/hp, healing potency, magic potency, and the biggest one of all I think.... -enmity, a definite must have. only reason why i disagree to the materia you have chosen is that since numbers are static now, with no point allotment, some numbers arent worth raising cuase your jsut going to get one shotted as a squishy mage anyway, defense being one of them.
    My current defense is 343
I know glads are pushing over 1000, hence that point
I know everyone's play style is different so its hard to say what a cookie cutter Conjurer is, but thats what I roll since I play with the idea of, im not "going" to get aggro or get hit. of course real in game is different, lol

    **edit**
I had a debate with a fellow ls member about abilities such as chameleon and second wind. the debate was that every mage should have those on their bar. my side was not, only due to the fact that they are TP abilities and not mp. VERY RARELY I get tp, so in order for it to work I need to equip invigorate jsut so I can gain tp. so then you are stuck using up to 9 action points for second wind, invigorate, and chameleon, used up space imo, lol
I know this isnt a materia slotting thread but hey, tangents are awesome! lol
