    I have to buy a whole nother version for OSX?

    So I have a company provided Laptop, and I go on a lot of business trips. I was recently swapped over to a Macbook, and now it appears that even though the game will now support OSX, I have to buy an OSX copy of the game to play on OSX... This seems ludicrous. Otherwise I will need to setup bootcamp just for this one game...

    Well they already stated long ago that a separate licence is needed for every platform therefore you will need to buy the OSX copy of the game that comes with both ARR and HW so this shouldn't even be a surprise anymore. Set up boot camp for it if you do not want to part with the cash.

    Aren't FFXIV accounts in NA/EU/Japan already separate? What's stopping them from giving the Mac client to all NA/EU accounts that own the PC/Steam versions?

    Yeah, and that law seems very specific to Consoles for obvious reasons...
