Retainer you haven't payed for

If you pay for an additional Retainer and store items in that retainer, but the following month(s) you do not pay to use the Retainer, do you lose your items? or do you only need to resub your Retainer to retrieve your items once again? Thanks!

You don't lose them, you just don't have access to them until you reinstate that retainer.

This. I have one additional retainer, but lost her when my subscription ran out. If that happens, remember to restart payment for that retainer manually; it will not automatically renew with your subscription. You won't lose the items, but next to your retainer's name you'll see "Contract expired", and won't be able to access them.

As far as I know, retainers do renew automatically with your subscription unless you disable their services in the Mogstation.
