Go play ffxi, you love it. This game should never be ffxi. Im not saying its perfect by far, but as developers you should look to making a new game experience. You should petition ffxi to remake their graphics/polygons and make an HD ffxi.

Im not even really hating on what your saying, im dead serious. Whatever they end up making this game, it shoud offer a unique expereicne from ffxi. FFXI can have expansions to expand the story, and they could theoretically redo the whole graphic engine while keeping the same game and data for probably a lot less money than making ffxiv ff11. There is no logical reason to make this game offer the same expereince as ffxi.

The reason they made FFXIV was for FFXI players that was looking for a PS3 port and a graphic upgrade. Seeing how FFXIV player base is 60+% FFXI players from the poll they did few months back. I would say you have to make this game Like FFXI but better and New with unique experience that never could be done in FFXI. Seeing how the 5 race are just like FFXI that was due to " Wanting ffxi players to jump over ffxiv without missing there Char"

I agree this should not be FFXI 2.0 or WoW or rift or anything but does not mean you can't have what FFXI had like BCNM,KSNM, and many other type of event but done new and unique to FFXIV.

To the OP: You do understand that dragoon in FFXI is not base of the old dragoon right? that Lancer is more like the dragoon in old Final Fantasy then FFXI. Due to it having a wyvern and Dragoon in old Final fantasy killed Wyverns.

The new job system would give you Monk,WHM,BLM, and everything we want to make the game more final fantasy so i don't see the issue here.

This, can you call this true?

I played ffxi for a while, i am one of those many players. I didnt like ffxi much, i like ffxiv much.

The games are totally different, all FF games are totally different, thats what makes SE so good.

Many of those who started ffxiv where those who did not like xi. Remember how they advertised?

They said the game would be very different from ffxi, this game would be more casual etc.
