    Malady? What?

So Miasma and Miasma II, were changed a bit. Instead of inflicting Disease, which made sense, based on the description, it now indlicts "Malady". The description is the same as Disease so why the change, and of all names to change it to? Malady, g'day Malady, take this seat Malady, would Malady like some poison? Lol. (Inserted to show that I know the word is not milady) Out of all of the recent changes this one is one of the better ones as it doesnt effect us as much, unlike the new voices or changes to our abilities; but Malady, that's just such an odd new name. Any thoughts?

Edit: Okay for those who decided to sorta indicate I was dumb, for not knowing the word. While I admit the word was new to me, I am aware that they wouldn't change it to "Milady". Knowing how this game works, using words like Levin and Rime, it's not that hard to figure out what it meant. My inquiry was more along the lines of why the change in the first place. Maybe I needed to insert an lol after my "funny" banter.

I like helping people with their Job ideas, it's fun to help them visuallize and create the job they'd like to play most. Plus I make my own too, I'll post them eventually.

You do know that malady is a word right? It means disease.....and it's not pronounced the way you use it in your examples.

^^ i'm tickled by the irony of a Scholar needing to pick up a book once in a while and learn about words.

Malady does mean disease. It's also pronounced as "mal-a-dy".

The word you're confusing it with is actually spelled "milady" which is another way of saying "my lady".

That is your archaic English lesson for the day.

They probably did it so that you can't stack the heavy effect from both the disease debuff and the heavy effect from other sources. Disease and the heavy from Lethargy used to be able to stack, iirc. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Though probably unintentional, thanks for the pseudo dumb accusation.

Yes. Malady is a completely separate yet similar debuff to Disease, but only inflicts the healing reduction part of the debuff.

I figure it's to put it more in line with mobs that do similar things. Now when a SCH sees that icon on the tank in t5 for the first time, they shouldn't be (as) confused.
