Flying required for MSQ?

Is flying required to finish HW MSQ?
Wanted to wait for FC mates to catch up with story but also wanna finish it quickly.

MSQ is required for flying, but not the other way around.

Yeah, that might go hand in hand with map completion since there are certain areas that can only be reached by flying. But hey, it's well worth the effort to unlock it.

Yes, flying is required to finish HW MSQ only for the last map.
But, unlike the other five map, you don't have to search and attuning to the aether currents. You get it from completing MSQ.

I can't comment on it later in later levels, but so far from 50 to 56 I haven't needed flying, but it sure as hell made things a lot faster/easier.

I don't think flying is necessary, but as you go along doing quests, it becomes really handy. Especially given the very "rugged" landscape.
