Not universally true by any stretch. There are plenty of very positive contributions by the community throughout these forums (The OP himself is but one source of those positive contributions). Yes, there are also detractors, but focusing on that part of the conversation to the exclusion of the well considered opinions and suggestions of the more positive or constructive sources of criticism and/or praise is more than a touch skewed.

...When you're given a set of questions however with direct answers, you don't get opinionated baseless facts and rants. All you get is results.

This is why this poll seems to be working thus far.

And that is exactly the BS that the company wants ppl to think that poll is so fake the results are just generated to make ppl think that everything thats being done is generally accepted by the majority, when the game hits a wall they see that a low lvl buisness ploy would not rake in consumers =/

thing is this is a poll on a forum that requires you to have played the game in the last month to post, hence a lot of people who left are no longer here. The other thing is i think it signifies that the people playing mostly think its an average game with some potential. They are mostly optomistic. I am not anymore, but i can accept that overall its probably pretty accurate for the people who frequent this forum. A lot more people are ok with the game than i thought.

the thing here, is. A rating of average is actually pretty bad, it usually means im only here till something better comes along.

Even with my pessimism a concede the possibility that eventually this game might be good/interesting.

I'm just sad period. FFXI was a great many things... FFXIV was to replace it.

Just watched this video http://youtu.be/rrGQR9Qx3mI?hd=1 and I was quickly reminded how I couldn't be more excited for FFXIV. The music... the lore... the classes... (bought the collectors addition)

Having been on a detox (a break from the game) it pulled a great many things into perspective, of which was reflected in my poll answers.
