    The other thing is:
    1) The game it was sold as is long dead and it died with the Dev switch and player polls.
    2) The previous active combat system was cumbersome and was one of the biggest complaints from reviewers and players alike. We all gave it a try, and most of us didn't like how it turned out, and it's not like auto attack has ruined it, you just don't have to button mash to regularly attack.
    3) Positioning still matters and hasn't been changed.

    Exactly. Positioning means getting into an optimal position where you would be most effective relative to the positions of your allies and enemies. Positioning does not mean using flips, spins and somersaults to duck in and out of attacks.

    Animations take time to do in which the ff14 dev team dont have time to do because they have other things to work on to get this off the bare bones state.

    Exactly. Think of the battle lag you experience already? SE has said this lag is primarily down to the animations. And yet you want to add even more user-controlled animations?

    When they add jumping, class-specific weapon animations and being able to cast whilst running, maybe you'll be happy, but surely you can see that adding anything as dramatic as what you want isn't going to achieve anything?

    It's a nice idea in theory and I'm sure it looks awesome in your mind's eye, but quite frankly it's just not feasible for this game. It doesn't fit in with the style and tone, it completely undermines SE's whole "positioning and strategy" ideology and would only add more problems than what it would solve.

    Also to put in the game was sold as being revolved around guildleves but that has changed in i believe in a producer letter so that could mean the active battle system could have changed too.

    I imagine when the game is relaunched for PS3 it will be marketed very differently to what it was a year ago.

    It'll certainly be a first in history, a game that gets put on sale for one thing pops up a year and a half later on a different platform as something quite different, but is still technically the same game.

    I understand where your coming from but you have to understand this is the tried and true formula for Final Fantasy games and it will never change. Some of us actually enjoy the style of gameplay. Besides a large majority of us (which includes the other regions such as japan and europe) voted to bring this system in to play. I have no problem with it. I couldn't get the feel of the new system right away with my old character so I deleted my first character and started over. With a new pair of eyes I fell in love with the system, It has the nostalgia of FFXI as well as improves upon the old gameplay style.

    Maybe this isn't the game for you dude, Honestly wait until Tera Online and Guild Wars 2 comes out, I think you'll be a lot happier with those titles instead. Also no offense to you but you wont be missed and I'm sure once you play those games you wont miss us either.
