Need some opinions about changing race

Hello, I'm thinking of changing my character into one of the new Au'Ra. I think I'd like to make a female character and then it occurred to me I'd have a female character with a male name lol. Is that too strange? The mental back story I sort of had for my character was that he was the incarnation of the god of death (hence his name) buuut it wouldn't really make sense if 'he' becomes a 'she' XD. Is there a way to change my characters name or should I just say screw it and roll with it?

You can, but it costs money to buy from the store.

That said I say go for it, after all I'm pretty sure atleast one piece of media out there has had Thanatos as a girl. Hell, one anime has Nyarlothop as an alien girl.

You can spend $10 on Mog Station to change your name if it bothers you.

I don't think your character name would seem strange. Gods can be known to shape shift and take different forms, so there's that. Plus there could always be a little backstory as to why your Au Ra girl got named for the God of Death. Like she was born under his star or she was his "favorite daughter" and thought it fit to give her his name. Whatever reason you have I think it could work.
