Where is my character?

So I had an issue logging in a couple of days ago. I had been playing for about 3 months, preordered Heavensward, and one day the client wouldn't let me log in. It kept saying that my service account wasn't registered. So, seeing the obvious solution, I bought another copy of the game and re-registered. Immediately I was let back into the game. Unfortunately, I now no longer have access to my original character, Pharaoh Ozymandias on Gilgamesh.

This is an issue because I had leveled 2 jobs to 50, and I was somewhat close to finishing the main scenario quest. Can I obtain access to my old character again at all?

So you bought a new copy of the game and registered another account? If so, then those characters you are referring to are on another account. I am not sure if you can merge accounts, but I don't think so.

The problem is, the original game wouldn't register the service account because I used the registration code already. I just don't want to have lost all my progress forever. 3 months of dedication.

Characters are tied to accounts. If you want your original character you'll have to go back to your original account.

Well that would be fine if I could access it using the original registration code. But I can't make a service account with it anymore. I don't know how to fix that.

What does it say is the status of your original account when you login to mogstation?

You should be able to reactivate it from there.

It doesn't, actually. I can't even see my original account, as if it simply got up and walked away. My character still exists because I can look it up on the lodestone, but I cannot see my first account anywhere.

Actually, yes. I imagine the account that I need to get fixed somehow is labeled "Account Basic Service". The one I made recently is called Final Fantasy XIV". I'm sure that is where my character is located. I just need a way to access it.
