I would also recommend to those at lvl 50-51 that when your upping quality, choose "quantity over quality" as an example, base turn-in exp for yellow copper or per (min quality is 240 iirc), you get 64k exp. the next tier of quality adds around 10k exp max. so it's better to turn in 2 of lower quality then 1 higher quality, you get much more exp for them!

I'd also mention that this is simply the fastest way to level your gathering, period. once you get the process down, you can easily get 250k exp about every 15m or so (whatever time it takes for the Eorza clock to rotate 12 hours). using no leave quests, and spending no more then 2-3 minutes porting over to western Coerthas and flying/riding to the spot. it's really that easy and that fast.

I also recommend that you unlock flying in those zones asap. saves you a ton of time once the node pops up. their spawn locs are pretty spread out, and with all the hills and ramps you have to run up, it can really eat into your node access time w/o flying.
